Exactly. The fact that the manager hasn’t binned him after some really bad performances means we should probably do the same and give Bakayoko at least a season or so to get acclimated to the PL. I’d be far more worried if he was at this level at let’s say, age 27/28.

He still hasn’t played anywhere near his Monaco level, so he needs to focus on getting back to there (that’s the player we paid £40m for), and then build on from there.

Yes you can see the obvious differences between him and Drinkwater currently. Drinkwater is solid and dependable and that is why he has fit in pretty well. Whilst we paid a lot of money for him under the circumstances, I think we all felt we knew what we were getting with him and our expectations weren't too high. But Drinkwater is also safe and unspectacular and whilst you need players like that in any team to rely upon at times, I don't think he'll ever be a key player for the club.

I think there was a much greater expectation on Bakayoko and he was also brought in to be an 'upgrade' on Matic which was always going to make his situation much harder. At the moment he needs to focus on the basics that someone like Drinkwater does - recycle possession, tactically disciplined and working hard in the middle closing down and tackling. From that the confidence will come and we will hopefully see a better player.

What I think a lot of us were expecting was a tall, strong, physically imposing midfielder that can get up and down the pitch making tackles at one end and carrying the ball forward at the other, something relatively unique that a player like Drinkwater couldn't provide. We're not seeing it at the moment, but I'm not prepared to write him off yet.

The fact the manager hasn't binned him off after so many bad performances probably means he also can't believe how shite he's been and that he can't possibly continue being that bad.....yet he has, time after time.

We have just bought Barkley for 15M and the lad has been slaughtered before kicking a ball, yet without him kicking a ball I'd oust Bakayoko without a single thought. This team cannot afford passengers, TB right now is offering absolute zero to this side, I mean to a point I would go as far to say he has been one of the worst players I have seen in the PL.

Season is a write off, we’re not winning the PL. We can afford passengers.

I swear the likes of Rudiger, Christensen, Azpi and Luiz are streets ahead of him technically despite being CBs.

It's not even a contest, the players you listed are serious professionals. Baka's technique is not on professional footballer level when I watch him, his level would be bad even for a goalkeeper.

I was one of the biggest voices early on saying his inconsistency would iron out and to be patient with him. He showed plenty of promise in some games. He has actually regressed significantly since his already average level early on.

His confidence is at rock bottom and you can tell as much every single time he receives the ball. He doesn't want it. He gets it and wants rid of it immedietly because he knows he'll likely fuck up a pass. Needs a spell out of the team.

Extremely depressing that two of our expensive recent signings that were bought to play a significant role in the side (Baka & Batshauyi) have turned out to be total donkeys. That's around £70m down the drain. :(

Yep. I don't think City or United would even be interested in the sort of player we sign regularly these days. Our level on and off the pitch has dropped to probably the third tier now. Alongside the likes of Spurs, Liverpool, and Arsenal who can't and won't compete with the other big boys.

That money wasted on those pathetic players is enough to buy us someone like gurreiro and fekir...imagine those two signings...we desperately need attackers...we are too reliant on morata and hazard....pretty obvious how shambolic our attack looks like now they are struggling...
