There is warmth from Ferguson in his chapter about José Mourinho and it is clear that the pair do enjoy a good relationship, despite what Sir Bobby Charlton, the United director, said about it essentially being a marriage of convenience. But the chapter veers away from Mourinho, as Ferguson discusses a range of topics from George Best to the desire of Nemanja Vidic to enlist for the Kosovo conflict and his personal transfer market errors, chief among them Kieran Richardson, Eric Djemba-Djemba, William Prunier and Ralph Milne. There had been the expectation that Ferguson would discuss why he did not advance Mourinho as his Old Trafford successor. There is no mention of the subject in this chapter. DH

Ferguson was/is a bully he bullied and cheated his way into a position of complete power , but he met his match when he met Jose ,the vision of Fergie bellowing in the 4th officials ear while Jose slipped on Modric for Real Madrid will live with me forever ,the bully reverted to type and the master manager acted quickly and unnoticed and the game was done before Fergie realised what had happened. I have to disagree Fergie is not a bully. He is a football genius and really spent his life building UTD. It is nice what he has said about Jose in the past. I am sorry I may be a Chelsea/Rangers supporter but I won't have Fergie badmouthed. There will never be a manager at a club for almost 30 years again and it deserves respect.

Perfect tactical match by Mourinho - from the start this time. We had a good 10 minutes of being pressured by them with those corners, shots and headers, but other than that not one minute looked like they could score.

This match should be used by scouters as study material on how to dominate your opponent in their home and still being lethal, dangerous and efficient.

Jose is a better manager now ,I am hoping he will still be Chelsea manager in 10 yes 10 years time ,if he is we will be the power in English football and a European superpower ,lets make this for the long term, we have seen anything else will be second best to Jose he is special and he is Chelsea.

no need to get carried away by this result.....this depleted Schalke team is even weaker than Tottenham, and yet we managed to beat them by playing a counter-attacking football....this won't work against Europe's elite....the likes of Borussia and Atletico Madrid will simply rape us if we play like this against them....we need to master passing to keep possession for long periods of time...

Funny thing is, we may have to see Sturridge scoring goals for Liverpool and Matic playing well for Benfica knowing we let both go, but United are going to be reminded week in week out that they choose Moyes over Mourinho.

did they? If that was the case I'm sure Fergie would have mentioned in the book that he wanted Mourinho to replace him or that Mourinho wanted to be his replacement.
