Big money for Bailey

Bayer Leverkusen have told Chelsea to “forget about signing Leon Bailey this summer”, claims talkSPORT.

The Jamaican winger has taken Germany by storm since joining from Genk in January last year and according to talkSPORT the Blues “have been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old over the last few months”.

An offer is pending from both Chelsea and Roma, according to reports in Germany, but Leverkusen have “categorically ruled out” any sale this summer.

Will that deter Chelsea? Probably not, with talkSPORT claiming that “a bid of around £45m could reportedly tempt Bayer into changing their stance”.

These phrases are the new template for any media scroats making an article about us.

Bud we wouldn't cough up £100 mill for a striker who would guarantee us 40 goals a season.

Thats what im saying, if we won't go for him now he's under 50mil, then we won't get him again because his value will surely rise(double) once a big team signs him.

Bailey isn't better than what we already have.

Tosh.

His upside is also massive. Willian has nothing but downside from here on out. Willian will slow down play in Sarriball, Bailey is a speed burner and a great finisher already, plus he can play either wing.

What RWers who are even remotely available do you rate over Willian?

I would take any of these (some more than others) over him

Ousmane Dembélé

Leon Bailey

Federico Chiesa

Christian Pulisic

Federico Bernardeschi

Suso

Iñaki Williams (tough pull, he loves Bilbao)

Florian Thauvin (has exploded in quality of play the last 2 years, 26 goals last year for Marseille)

Wilfried Zaha

Wild card Thomas Müller (Bayern may sell him, and he is maybe not the best for our style of play, so wouldnt be my first choice, but if he ever went back to form of 2 years ago and before, he is a monster)

We're interested in Zaha apparently, but not sold on any of the others. Only reason Baily would be useful is because he is left footed. The rest of those players' stats aren't anything special. Willian's workrate and defensive duties have been important for us. He has contributed more to tracking back than others, and he's been in a more defensive style for a few seasons now. We haven't seen the best of Willian because he plays on the RW as a right footed player (which limits his ability a lot) and due to playing for defensive managers like Conte and Mourinho. I am very intrigued to see what he can offer with Sarri in charge. Baily may be a future prospect, but he's not better than Willian at the moment.

We just have a vast difference in footballer evaluation then. I would take almost ever one of those in a flash over Willian right now, plus he is 30 and the drop off will start coming in a year or two. His re-sale value will plummet after this window as well. We are stuck with him I fear, and we can revisit this in January, to see how my alternatives stack up against Willian at that time. I hope, for our sake, he comes good in a massive way. I am not at all convinced he will. I think Pedro is going to end up the overall starter.

Willian isnt all that bad. People need to stop underrating our players.

What those players have over Willian is potential, but hardly anyone is actualy already better. They are, like Willian inconsistent due to age and their best game isnt better compared to best game by Willian.

But the cash for Willian (60m) is too good to turn down for a 30yo. And he slapped himself with Conte jibe.

Still, out of those mentioned, I would only take Bailey or Chiesa.

Pulisic isnt worth reported 70m, Bernardeschi and Inaki are talented, but they never actualy delivered yet. They are nowhere near ready to just replace Willian in our first 11 and give impact.

Meanwhile Suso and Thauvin are hardly talents anymore IMO. Neither is good enough for elite club. Thauvin is also one big cunt, I wouldnt have him anywhere near this club.

Bailey is a real baller though and CFC fan. He has mentality, is eager to improve and made huge jump last year. Has also all physical qualities for PL. Chiesa not so much, but his ball control is amazing

Hardy talents anymore? LOLOL They are 24 and 25, and Thauvin scored 26 goals last year as a winger, including 4 in Europe. Willian took 55 games to get half that (and that was his all-time high, ever, in 11 years of first team football) Thauvin is a vastly better player than when with the Geordies (which is whee the cunt comment comes from, no?). He is also far from my first choice on that list (Bailey, then was Malcom). We fucked up and let Malcom go to Barca for only £37m, whilst fucking about offering 70 or 80m in player plus cash for Zaha.

Like I said above, we are stuck with Willian more than likely, so I hope he comes good.

I gave up on the window about 3 days ago.

Here is a question to the forum.

Would you agree to signing Bailey for X(50-55m) money while loaning CHO to Bay Lev for the season to make up for the Leon Bailey sized hole in their lineup

In: Leon Bailey

Out: CHO + cash.

It would give CHO guaranteed heavy minutes in a great league, plus it would secure a dynamic player who is more ready to contribute for us this year. Thoughts?

I would so do it, as long as CHO understood what was going on (That Bailey will be our RW for years, and he (CHO) is slotted in for LW for years to come, when Hazard leaves.)  That also depends on if Hazard renews. If he refuses, we HAVE to sell him next year or lose him on free like we probably will with Courtois.

I consider talent someone 23 or below. After that I expect them to start performing on regular basis, and with sort of impact.

Suso didnt impress me. He is a player you get for your rotation.

Thauvin? Yes he scored 26 goals, but dont let that fool you. I watch ligue 1 a lot and he isnt nowhere near the player we should be getting. Small team killer, chokes when it matters. Not to mention he has typical french mentality, full of himself and when shit hits the fan, he will let you down. He is tacticaly inept, much like Nasri, Ben Arfa or Payet to extent (but he actualy proved something in his career). Thats why I called him cunt, not because his stay in Nufc. Cabaye played for Geordies and I liked him alot. He has alot of talent, but rotten mentality. Thats why he left nufc when they were relegated only to return back to france on loan where he decided to stay permamently, despite nufc hoped to be in plans for last season. His flop in europa final is nice example.

And yes Zaha is a no go either.

We need to find someone long term for that right wing, someone with proper mentality, and elite talent. Bailey fits that. Chiesa too, but isnt as fitting to PL as Bailey is. Every other option is second option, a quantity option instead of quality.

Few months ago, I said I will be happy with good CM (to replace Cesc) and Bailey. Specificaly him. You dont come up to someone talented, chelsea fan, available and tailor suited to PL every year. And counter fits Hazard perfectly. Eden is playmaker, dictates play, while Bailey is direct, loves to shoot and cut in from the wing. The kid is going to be big one day.

I know we have lost ambition, but fuck those good, but not great players, get a 5 star prospect for once.
