45 euros not pounds so its about 32 mil pounds

45m€ is incredible amount of money. It would be transfer record for so many clubs or one of the highest, not least for Chelsea.

For a guy that 3 years ago no one heard of and who relies on his energetic runs and is already 28.

But what's the plan B ? Still don't know how Chelsea didn't sign Allan or Aranguiz last summer when they were in talks for both.

We're getting him. No doubt about that now, after those comments.

Only thing is, wish we were in for him 2 seasons ago when he put in a fantastic campaign for Roma and was obviously younger. Will probably only stay around for his initial contract, but that's fine I guess. 4/5 years is a Loooong time in football.

I'm not saying that once a player is >30 their career is over, far from that. But I think it's clear to see that the Board are having a hard time investing THAT much (whatever that may be) in a 28y/o.

He also said he's happy at Roma because of the love he receives there and how highly he is rated there, which he finds very important. And that it would be hard to leave Italy after eleven years.

Translation: you better offer very good money and a star role because he's not desperate to make the move.

I hope the club will also make a move for Matuidi. He remains my favourite but he's a good alternative (I hope). What makes the disastrous 15/16 campaign worse is how clubs and players know Chelsea are desperate and not in the position to play hard ball.

Matuidi is a central part of that PSG side. No way they'll sell him.

I know. But it's not uncommon for a club to sell a key player because of his age, money or the opportunity to sign someone better. Replacing him before he declines rather than wait until it finally happens for example. I advocated the same to be done with Ivanovic in the summer of 2015 for example. He came off a good campaign overall but the signs of physical decline were there to see. And this isn't exactly the same but Bayern were criticised for selling Schweinsteiger but they were right in the end. Other times you let a player go and it proves to be a terrible decision (Pirlo to Juve).

Anyway, I hope that to be the case with Matuidi. PSG are in a position to replace him with a player as good, possibly even better, though a few years younger. At 29, he only has a few years left. But that's just fine for Chelsea. The team needs players who will perform at the necessary level immediately to get back to the top. There are no guarantees in football but I rate Matuidi higher.

Highly unlikely though. Especially because he's French. But I can't stop wishing it'll happen. Radja is a good player but I'm not convinced he'll provide the necessary impact.

If that arsehole Emenalo is the one leading negotiations.. we will NOT get him.. simple as!

The man is a clueless moron!

Emenalo isn't and has never been in charge of player negotiations at Chelsea.

I believe Marina Granovskaia is in charge of player negotiations.

It's a lost cause pal.

They'll blame Emenalo if it rains on a Tuesday when the weather forecast said there'd be clear sunny skies.

Emenalo should have been sacked with alongside mourinho Emenalo make a lot of fuck ups in the transfer window last season I would love to see Chelsea replace Emenalo with Walter Sabatini he's doing a great job with Roma
