Besides I didn't say Spurs deserve a lead, but they'd certainly deserve it more than us.I never understood that 'deserved' statement being solely based on performance alone. No tempo, no control, no hold up under pressure, no creativity in attack, no link up, no runs in open spaces (and players with vision to spot them). We are bang shit in attack. But its final so I accept it. However making spurs look world class, and our poor form since january, Im not impressed at all.Cesc having another brilliant game I see...I wonder how long will people protect him.And finaly, we beaten this spurs team 3:0 not long ago. It means we can, but it seems our tactics and mentality are simply fucked up. Barbara 15,149 Posted March 1, 2015 Share Posted March 1, 2015 They just showed the Coutinho goal here and it reminded of when Hazard had a ball in the same position.People compare so much Coutinho and Oscar saying Oscar needed to be more like Coutinho - which he could offensively wise, but this team's star is Hazard and if someone could take a page or two from Coutinho's clear improvement on finishing is Hazard. Coutinho used to be so weak on that and he's been improving quite well on that matter. The kind of improvement I'd like to see Hazard have as well. Spurs passed the ball well.I think what happens is we're so poor with the ball that we just end up parking the bus/playing negatively by default.We are arguably the worst 'big' team with regards to possession / keeping the ball under pressure. Such a negative approach against a mediocre team with half of Europe watching is deserving of critique, regardless of our undeserving lead... Negative? Or you can play in such a way where you know you have the advantage, which Mourinho clearly does. Try to play "beautiful, free-flowing football" and end up like Arsenal v. Monaco.
