A one year deal with the option to be renewed if he's fit to continue playing is an idea I welcome. It's still too soon to see legends like Cole, Lampard and Terry go. Not many clubs would pay his wages, i think the only option for him was PSG, and they said they arent interested. Clubs that could afford to pay his wages would sign him immediately.Most likely, he wanted to stay at Chelsea. Perhaps, he even lowered his wages ? As it stands there is a real lack of options in the summer so it's possible that Rafa will remain but only for a few years until Roman finds that manager to completely rebuild the team.Would be stupid to get rid of Cole if no one was lined up in the summer (Just my opinion ofc).
