Juan Cuadrado

I got the impression reading Skipper's post as if he meant to say that Cuadrado was below par and will need a lot time to adjust (which is no rocket science, everyone needs that), however if that's not what he meant then my bad.

It wasn't directed at you in particular mate, it's just those subsequent people that seemed to think Skip directly said he is a 'flop' or was writing him off when he actually said nothing of the sort. I think yours was a simple misunderstanding, but others seem to love making mountains out of molehills!

I liked his movement off the ball.

I think Jose put him mostly because he wanted to have someone to make an emergency foul and concede a yellow possibly. Not ready yet to provide complete performances. It's going to take a while like Skipper said.

Remember if he doesn't hit the ground running could always sell him back to Fiorentina or something for 10m and go for another winger so we don't have to worry. He will either be good enough or not good enough and be sold.

Hope he starts against Leicester or something soon to get into form

It seems that I am the only one impressed. I didn't watch him play that much but from what I saw he seems to have great shoots, he tries to dribble a lot and with quality but loses the ball a lot too (it's normal), he works hard in defense but not with the quality of Willian, good link up play for a pacy winger even if he misses some passes, better in counter attack and he's really fast.

I think he can be like Sterling. I think they are really similar in style and quality.

I was expecting him to be more shy in this 10 minutes, and I loved the way he had no problem of going 1 on 1 with the defenders. His pace is increadible, liked his workrate and his movement in attack, I think he will do it really well and he will play almost always.

He is the kind of player we should have, hard worker, consistent and with quality. He is aso a lot different when compared with the other 3

Highlight of his actions on the pitch today. Looks OK but says nothing because the game was pretty much dead.

Oh gosh, that is one of the worst montages I've ever seen.

No offense if its your video though

Eh, I believe that was Skipper's point?

LOL, Skipper points out that he didn't do much (which he didn't, because he couldn't) and he may need to adapt (which 95% of players need to do) and people start to lose their minds thinking Skipper called him a 'flop'?!

Jesus Christ, this forum is laughable sometimes. Pack mentality or what. Calm down everyone.

Thank you. Bunch of cry babies on here, it's incredible.

I think definitely the signing Cuadrado affects Oscar and Willian.

Not only Cuadrado, also the great recovery of Ramires. He is the type of player who Jose loves.

We do not have only the appearance of Cuadrado our starting eleven, we also have the reappearance of Ramires.

I think this will be our usual starting eleven.

Ramires Matic

Cuadrado Fabregas Hazard

With more freedom

Diego Costa

Regards.

regardless. everyone with common sense wouldn't make predictions, evaluate or say anything based on a cameo on his very first ever EPL match, under negative circumstances. There's been a bit of overreaction on both sides. Either you have an opinion about a new player even before his first minute or you build one with time. Any kind of assessment, guess or whatnot within 15 minutes of play is premature and unnecessary.

And no, @The Skipper's point and @Mufassir08's point couldn't be more different (as you said they were in the previous post you quoted Mufassir). One clearly said based on a cameo he'd predict a difficult time for him to adapt while the other said the opposite, saying a cameo - especially in that situation - isn't enough to make a prediction. There were people overreacting and saying Skip said he'd be a flop - which he didn't - but he did make a prediction based in those 15 minutes that makes no sense (not the prediction itself, but deciding to make a prediction at all).

To be fair Barb, maybe I didn't make it particularly clear but I have always thought Cuadrado will need an adaptation period regardless of today's cameo.

I don't even know if he will adapt in the first place... but yeah, it makes sense if you use even a cameo to backup an opinion you already have. I also felt you were saying that based only on the cameo...

I haven't been reading much of this thread (and even less the speculation thread) because I've never been excited about this arrival. I still don't see the point of it, but I'll trust José and the board evaluation... For me, this has the potential to be the first 'bad' business we've done since José is here. Despite not wanting to see Kevin departure, I feel like his problem was less tactical and technical, than it was personal, so I can't really say they made a mistake if they thought it was a personality profile issue - which imo was clearly the reason he left.

Eventually a mistake will be made. It could be Cuadrado coming, Schurrle leaving, Oscar, Willian, Ramires, Mikel, Cahill, Ivanovic staying (whether in the club or the starting XI), so until the mistake comes - which imo hasn't yet (I can accept all those players being part of our squad, I have a problem with some of their captive place in the starting eleven or being the predictable and expected sub) - I'm going to reserve the final judgment of this transaction. I feel it's been a mistake, I'm not sure about it (although even if I was would still merely be an opinion).
