Despite the fact Cech, Abramovich and Arsenal are all ready to sign off the deal, Mourinho is yet to give the green light. (Mail) #CFC #AFC

Jose Mourinho would much prefer Petr Cech to join @PSG_inside, who are also interested. #CFC #AFC #PSG (Mail)

Mourinhos reluctance to sanction Cechs switch to #AFC also stems from the lack of a ready-made replacement for the keeper. (Mail) #CFC

Jose Mourinho has made an audacious bid to snatch Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal. #CFC #AFC (Mirror)

Mourinho is determined not to let Cech join his title rivals without a fight & is keen #AFC midfielder Chamberlain. #CFC (Mirror)

Arsene Wenger though is adamant that Chamberlain is going nowhere and has slammed the door on a player-plus-cash deal. #CFC #AFC (Mirror)

Jose and the board can not give up on him w/o a fight and strenghten a title rival. Paris is also in the race so if Arsenal really want to have Petr in the squad they have to show us the money or come with a tempting offer. Cech for The Ox and we can call it a day. A better deal for Chelsea, I know, but that's life, the bigger fish always eats the little one.

I've always respected Petr and I always will, but I think "staying in London" is not an excuse for going to our rivals. This club gave everything to him, he's a legend here. Why go to Arsenal? You can judge me, but personally I feel a little betrayed just when I think that he's considering moving to Arsenal.

Up until replacing him with a younger keeper when he was still world class and would start in almost any other team in the world.

Petr has the right to go wherever he wants and still be held in the highest regard here. He's still world class, and the club decided to throw him out, he didn't want to leave.

He just sat an entire season on the bench and was more than a top professional about it. He deserves to be allowed to leave to wherever he wishes.

You cannot be mad at a genuine person like Cech wanting to put his family first. It takes a big man to stand up and do what's right for his children and family. He knows some fans will slaughter him, but he's prepared to take that on the chin.

If anything - this makes me like the guy even more. He's not a mercenary - he's a genuinely decent bloke - look on YouTube, he made a video of him drumming at a fans request lol - who else would bother to go to those lengths? The players always speak very highly of him too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely gutted on a 'fan' level - but - I can see his predicament - he has to do what's best for his children and family.

But at the same time , don't expect the club to give a wc player to a rival , without an inflated fee / player in return. We need a good deal out of this.

Not necessarily! Seems roman is allowing this one to happen cause big Pete wants to stay in London. If that's the case we may just get money and not a great amount of it. Hope I'm wrong tho but don't think so.

Where do you get this? The club wanted him to stay, he's the one who wants to leave. Mourinho said it several times.

Stay on the bench! He's a world class keeper, one of the best 5 in the world. Of course the club knew fully that he would leave once Thibaut is preferred over him.

I'm not saying that was a wrong decision, it was clearly the right one, but from Petr's point of view that was basically the club telling him he is no longer needed and should leave. He's already exceeded expectations and showed a great deal of loyalty by sticking with the team last season despite being on the bench.

Honestly I think it is abit selfish for us fans to dictate where a man and his family should go. When he moves it affects his family, so if he is settled in London then I think he should make sure his family stays settled. Wouldn't like him at Arsenal, it would be a very sad day actually ,but he deserves to go where it is best for him to be. And he is good enough to start anywhere bar a few teams in the world, it would be a waste for him to be on the bench.

It's his decision, we just talk about it, it's harmless.
