Graeme Souness got it spot on here - "great game management". We didn't allow Arsenal to get into their rhythm with clever tactical fouls and closed down the spaces/gaps as a unit and forced them into long shots.

You look at Chelsea today and they’re efficient,” he said. “They’ve got the job done.

“They’ve got great game management. They’ve got a few players out there who work out how the game is panning out, long before they get a message from the touchline or the dressing room at half-time.

“They are very impressive as a team – with some stars in there. Watch the Chelsea players when they lost possession, how quickly they got back in position, how quickly they got goal-side.

“It’s not just about doing clever things with the ball. When you’ve got great players and some very good players, all willing to put a shift in, it makes them a very dangerous animal.”

Jamie Carragher also alluded to our game management point against Liverpool at Anfield last season.

Gotta love our streetwise-ness in big games.

Watched the match again today. Oscar, Hazard, Cesc were equally brilliant. So i am giving my MOTM to Cesc because he played against Arsenal and that was just huge commitment and professionalism he showed apart from the performance. I am not even going to consider that we will show anything less at the Emirates.

It was nice to see him celebrate as well!

It's an insult to compare him to Davy Jones, or any other character from POTC for that matter.

City is a semblance of an opponent.

Loserpool have shut shop and UTD will come back - one day.

Arsenal are losers from time immemorial. In 1971 -first years of international tv- they played against Ajax, got demolished. Since then all their European appearances were on sufferance.

P.S., were you sat front row, next to a brown-haired girl also in the new home shirt?

Exactly, my missus :D it's actually my own other new home shirt. She got to wear my Hazard shirt and I wore my Fabregas shirt to piss off the Gooner fans

C'mon, Match of the Day 3 Mark Chapman, where is the Chelsea pundit on your show? Old ManU [Neville], Old Ars [Keown], old QPR, WHU, MC &c anything but Chel [sinclair.] WE GET THE USUAL ONE-SIDED DRIVVEL. This is just ridiculous - they just about managed to admit that Jose M did OK by NOT responding in like to the crazy-psycho physical assault by Wenger....somehow it's OK to physically assault a fellow manager if he's a Chel Manager. Rubbish, rubbish, more rubbish. NO IT'S NOT OK TO ATTACK A FELLOW MANAGER.......AND PHYSICAL ASSULTS IN PUBLIC CANNOT BE CONDONED. The only thing a Chel Manager can do APPARENTLY is accept this treatment APPARENTLY. What if Jose M had rushed over to Ars W's tech area and shoved him violently...Oh THAT WOULD BE DIFFERENT. Jose M would be in BIG trouble, bringing the game into disrepute etc... etc. but it's OK if Ars W does it as long as Jose M accepts it meekly!!!! WE WANT CHELSEA REPRESENTATION ON MATCH OF THE DAY. Then the old nonsense is dragged up about the specialist in failure, forgetting that Arse W attempted to undermine Jose M & his team by stating that they had a fear of failure. IT WAS A FAIR RESPONSE IN CONTEXT. IF YOU WANT TO MESS WITH JOSE M YOU MUST EXPECT A REALISITIC RESPONSE. But ARSE W FOUND THAT HE MADE A big mistake AND CANNOT DEAL WITH IT. He should take a reality check, and decide what he can deal with, and what he should leave well alone. Clearly he cannot deal with Jose M and would be wise to know when he is beaten.

Yeah, we played well and the performance was very effective and efficient, but I'd say we didn't even get out of 2nd gear against these, and we didn't need to either. Arsenal are just light work.

PS, this is not criticism at all - I'm just saying that that wasn't the best from us, we still have another level to go to. We can definitely play better IMO. On another day, if we wanted to, and if everything clicked, we could've decimated Arsenal by a few more goals.
