Loïc Rémy

He'd easily have scored 15 goals this season if he'd have had more opportunities.

As much as I love Diego and believe his contribution to the side cannot be measured in his goals alone, I think if Remy had have been given the minutes Costa has had this season, he'd have scored more than 20 goals. But Its easy to say that in hindsight, however he really is a very good finisher and his movement off the ball and into space makes him a nightmare to mark.

Also maybe it is just me or does anyone see him breathe quite heavily everytime a camera is planned on him? I don't believe that 'heart' issue is that significant but compared with others like Costa, Hazard, Willian...etc he just always seem to breathe heavily visibly.

Probably just silly obsevation from me though considering he played like 30+ last season without any problems.

Maybe he's just a very good squad option like our Hernandez type?

I really like the different things he gives us up front. The fluidity yesterday in the first half among the front four and the free exchanging of positions gave Stoke some serious headaches. I think his pressing and defensive work-rate have really improved since signing for us and it's obviously something he's worked hard on in training.

I love his attitude and his willingness to do everything to help the team and his teammates. At one point in the first half he spent like a full 5 minutes on the left win after exchanging places with Eden on an attack, and he did all the defensive work and tracked their RB to the edge of our box more than once. That's always great to see, especially from a player who has not been getting a lot of playing time.

So no one complains that he needs more 90+ minute games in order to perform, like in Cuadrado case?

This is what you have to do when you get a chance, hands down to Remy.

Now some will go on that Remy is PL proven as excuse, but those would be same people who would call ''PL proven'' as bullshit in another case. Cuadrado at 26 years old with WC experience, Serie A experience and huge price tag should do much better than he did, period. You had Sanchez thrown straight from Udinese to Barca and he did much better than Cuadrado, right from start.

Big kudos to Remy who saved our last two games, quality back up who deserves to play more.

His pace and versatility make him one of the most sensible signings we've made - it is criminal he gets so few chances!!

The thing is I am sure Remy knew what he was signing up to when he signed here which is a good thing. I don't think he was very deceived into thinking he would get PL games over Costa. He is on nice wages and he is playing for a team who are challenging for major honours. That alone I think was enough to convince him to come here. That being said it is so refreshing to see that you are not too fearful of misfiring when your main striker is injured. Remy is a proven goalscorer. He may not be as good as Costa but I have no doubt that if Remy was the main striker for us he probably would be up there with the top scorers in the league. His goal tally this season for the minutes he has played is excellent. While I am annoyed to see Costa injured I am happy to see Remy get his deserved extended period in the team.
