Really don't like the fact that we're spending £19 million on a 29 year old left back, how many years has he got at the top? 2-3 years most likely, i know he's a great player but to me it seems like an expensive stopgap.

But he is one of the best in the world atm and usually for LB it is possible to play at top level until at least 33-35 if he looks after himself well enough. Also his game has never been based on speed so we don't have to worry about that fact. Cole could have stayed but his wages was too high and demanded 2 years deal min, I am sure Luis won't have a problem with our policy when the time comes.
