Unionjack 7,531
Well the story started at The Times and while theyre still media and have their own agendas they are normally a 'news' paper or always were. But they dont say where they got the spiel from. Would the club bring Costa into the office without his agent to offer him the £200k and 2 year extension? I dont know how that works. I'm hoping its all bollox. BUT do we really want Roman keeping him training with the B team for spite as it will send the team into chas. I dont like the idea of any player holding us to ransome and normally a 'iif you dont want to be here then fuck off'' guy. But hes got a big pair of boots that would need filling and I love the guy. I hope we manage to find his equal if necessary.

I know it's a major downgrade but his likely the only realistic target. No,we should replace him with Belotti.

Check the trend. So if he wants to leave fine. This kind of issue if not solved on time might disrupt the harmony of the Sqaud. My opinion is yes sell him for 80+(lets milk the chinese team). Then buy Lukaku(not worth more than 60m) so we can get profit(Oscars too) and and use it for the summer. Unionjack
Unionjack 7,531
IF we have to replace him Id happily take Lukaku. Just throw in a shit hot RW a tougher stronger defensive Cescy, a upgrade for Cahill and a backup/upgrade if possible for the WBs and we would do a good run in Europe. Pizy 18,552
If he wants out so desperately just sell him so he doesn't become a cancer in the changing room. And hurry up before it's too late in the window. TheIceMan and Bernard N Y Burgesson
BoyBlue96 990
This is very frustrating and worrying....I don't know what's up with him but we gave him so many love and support...even last year. I hope he turns everything around and joins Conte and the lads. Blue-in-me-Veins

Popular Post! DYC. 7,542 Posted January 16, 2017 Popular Post! Share Posted January 16, 2017 It's Drogba drama all over again. All attainable replacements are downgrades, and Chelsea are the worst when it comes to strikers anyway, so I hope he ends up staying like Didier did. He keeps scoring goals, carries the team on more than a few occassions, wins a few trophies and in the end we can all suffer from amnesia and forget the bad times. Oscar didn't have a future at Chelsea. Not a Conte player. That last point about Chelsea wanted to keep midfielder is utter bollocks. "Wanted to keep" could mean that the club wasn't actively looking to sell him this January which I believe to be true, but when such an offer comes for your benchie you take it and run. Sideshow Luiz 2,310
I can understand why he wants to go (if the China stories are true). It's A LOT of money. It's the kind of money that takes care of generations of his family. If offered 3x your wages, I think most people would get their resignation in ASAP. It's unfortunate for us as a club, the timing is terrible. But, we're on the other side of the fence all the time. Napoli didn't want to sell Koulibaly to us, they didn't. We tried, but it didn't work. The player wanted to come. I'm sure OM wanted to keep Bats, but they money was right, so they sold. Loyalty in football these days is a one-way street (for the most part). Loyalty = If you're a really good player, we (fans) want you to stay at the club. If they aren't up to scratch, we can't wait to see the back of them. I'd love for him to stay at the club, because he's an important player. But, I don't blame him for taking care of himself and his family. But, I will say, the club should hold out for more money. If they want to pay him 500K a week, and Oscar is worth 60. Diego should be sold for 100-120M. bluesman2610, Muzchap and Fernando
oldportblue 547
I'm not sure about what the top wage earners get in the Premier League, but IIRC Rooney earns 300k/week... With this in mind, I would give him 250-275k rather than 200k for his new contract. He truly is a top 5 player in the league in my opinion and replacing him would be close to impossible (getting the same strike rate Costa offers in the prem from another striker) so I say just give him the money he wants and keep him until 2022. We can't do an arsenal and start being stingy with our best talents, it's not in anyone's interest Fernando
