When we're winning games its fine and its not that much of a problem. When we're losing games it becomes cancerous and bad for the team. What's worse is he's developed a reputation as public enemy no.1 amongst everyone from the opponents to the officials to the FA, we already have Jose for that and quite frankly when it comes down to it I choose Mourinho over him.

Costa in three seasons was a perfect foil to Falcao leading Atletico to Copa Del Rey win, then after Radamels departure he led Leti to the title and CL final against all the odds and came here and led us to the title in his first season in England, scoring over 20 goals in all season's.

Four months of bad form and all off a sudden Lukaku is better? Sorry just can't agree with that.

And why are we pretending this is Lukaku's first ever good season? He's always been a great goalscorer. His problem was his hold up play and touch which has distinctly improved this year.

Well it isn't all year and even if it was, Drogba and Rooney had shit calendar years and came back strong. 2nd half of last season after Swansea he played 11 games (12 if youre picky and include 5 minutes against Stoke) and scored 4, could have been better but is by no means catastrophic.

I don't think Lukaku is a bad player, far from it, but its going to take a bit more before he (in my mind) overtakes a player who has led his team to trophies the last three seasons.

Not dismissing him just yet. This guy scored 20 PL goals last season and some of them out of half chances. (see: West Ham, Everton), and led Atletico in their title winning season. How is he that bad this season? Don't think anybody can answer that. But I'd rather see it as a one off.
