Vitolo was signed and then sent on loan to Las Palmas from Atletico and not Sevilla, so clearly they can still sign players and send them out on loan and basically the only restriction from the trade ban is that whoever they sign can't be registered to play for Atletico. Despite Koeman mentioning it a couple of times I still remain highly sceptical Costa would actually go to Everton on loan, but if he did then his availability would depend entirely on how his transfer to Atletico was structured. If it's a pre-contract from January and the loan deal was between Chelsea and Everton, then he can't play but if he actually signs for Atletico before the deadline and goes on loan from Atleti to Everton then there's no restriction to prevent him from playing against Chelsea. Duppy Conqueror 1,537
I enjoyed many moments watching him play for us..Man City away was possibly his Chelsea career highlight but I want players who are fully committed to us..i`d sell better players than him if they weren`t fully committed..seems the unwanted drama is coming to an end at last. Blusan Alamb 295
Conflicting Reports-At 15:05 on Wednesday it looked more certain than ever that Diego Costa would secure his return to Atlético Madrid before the end of the transfer window. Yet according to Diario AS sources, the negotiations could continue beyond the international break. https://en.as.com/en/2017/08/30/football/1504100597_245618.html

Pizy 18,914
I wonder what would happen if no deal is struck? Surely he can't just sit on his ass in Brazil for 4 months while he's under contract here. Would that not be a breach of contract or something? xPetrCechx
