Share Posted June 3, 2014 When Eto'o was fully fit we looked a much better side compared to when Torres played, heck even Torres when he got those unconditional minutes before Ba arrived bagged 11, and he's an absolute clown.Im not saying Costa alone would suddenly turn us into Bayern, but i can't say he won't improve the team or his presence won't massively improve results because imo he will.Fair enough. We're ultimately saying the same things but in different ways. Of course Costa would be an upgrade on our current striking options - suggesting otherwise would be moronic - but our problems won't be solved by any one striker. Didn't Mourinho say just a few weeks back that Oscar (and Hazard & Matic) are the future of this team? Sorry.To simplify his role.it will be as a center field midfielder..there are two types of player that each brings something different to the double pivot for it to work..Matic will be the one doing the shielding of the back 4,breaking up attacks..Fabregas will be the one feeding those infront of him. He's played that role well many of times in the past.He didn't play that role so much from the games i saw him play for Barcelona..tho when they play the same day as us i'm usually in transit coming from our game when they play.
