supporter 3,088
Fabregas is probably the more PROFITABLE / IMPORTANT signing of our recent history. With Fabregas we have found a leader for our team, a great player who never hides in the important moments and that controls the pace of games to accurately.I think Fabregas will be our Pirlo. Both look identical, and perhaps every day that passes Fabregas will be a better player.Fabregas is The Architect for us. A brilliant compass.Barcelona signed Fabregas to do the role of Xavi but they placed Fabregas in the position of Centre-striker. Jose signed Fabregas to make the role of Fabregas (big difference). Thanks to Jose for sign him. And thanks to Fabregas for being with us. He is one of us. DH1988 1,348
I was wrong, said time and time again he wouldn't fit us, where does he play etc and hes done exactly what Jose wanted or wants him to do, how many times did we struggle against small teams last season, the man has the key more often than not. We have some absolutely massive games coming up, the big matches have been a concern for everyone if they stick a man on him etc I'm definitely excited to see how he handles that or what Jose has outlined for him to overcome that. Popular Post! Daniel1980 1,425 Posted January 19, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted January 19, 2015 Second Part of the season. All right, I'm getting tired of the same BS being spouted over and over by Barcelona and Arsenal fans, as though it's some law that Cesc's form is bound to drastically drop in the second part. Yes, his form definitely dropped at Barcelona, but that can be explained by many factors(among other things, the coaches reverted back to the trusted Xaviniesta and went back from a more direct football Barca generally played in the first half of the season to tiki-taka style that suited Xaviniesta). He never had such a drastic drop in form at Arsenal, so the problem was clearly related to Barcelona.Cesc's stats in the second half of the season at Arsenal(the League only):2010-2011 (5 assists and 1 MOTM performance in 12 games; was plagued by injuries throughout the second half of the season):2009-2010: (6 goals, 3 assists, 5 MOTM performances in 11 matches)2008-2009: (Was injured for months. After recovery, had 5 assists and 2 goals in 7 matches)2007-2008:It's natural that footballers' form drops as the season progresses, but as we see, at Arsenal Cesc's form didn't dip more than your average footballer's. He was injured a lot and missed many games, but that's it. He was still very good when he played. It's bloody hilarious how Arsenal fans keep repeating Barcelona fans' narrative now that Cesc is a Chelsea player. Our med team is miles better than Arsenal's. He'll be fine. It's bloody hilarious how Arsenal fans keep repeating Barcelona fans' narrative now that Cesc is a Chelsea player. Our med team is miles ahead of Arsenal's. He'll be fine. Thank you for that. I'm also sick of reading the same old BS myth created by those bitter fans.I provided some stats (wrote them) a couple of weeks ago, but let's see if now that it's been 'drawn' people can finally understand, see and for God's sake, get their own mind about it instead of jumping a bandwagon they never even tried to check if was correct. And again, it has to be said, Cesc was NEVER suited for Barça tiki taka. Yes, he has amazing passing (despite a few here claiming the opposite a few months ago, lol) and he can exchange passes for all day and not get tired, but his thinking is too direct. He touches a lot the ball, but it's fast, forward touches if he can decide, not that passing for the sake of passing and frustrating your opposition that won't have the ball. Also he was brought when they didn't exactly need him as they were too reliant on Xavi/Iniesta. And that's when the false nine BS started. And not to mention Barça have been a mess with many managers - none of which competent - and sort of lost, especially when they saw their big stars starting the descending years of their careers or Messi picking up injuries. Cesc was just a casualty in the fading years of a great team. He was badly managed and underused. Not his fault his been asked to do something that decreases his influence on matches. the wes 7,212
15 - Cesc Fabregas became the first player to provide 15 assists in two different Premier League seasons (2007/08 and 2014/15). Only four players in Premier League history have provided more than 15 assists in a single campaign than the Spaniard.
