chelsea blue 615
Chelsea’s Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas is set to spent three weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury, missing international games against Belarus and and Germany, as well as key fixtures for the Blues,The midfielder played for the Blues away to Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, despite having a niggling injury, and it has been made worse by his inclusion, though his side did run out 2-1 eventual winners, despite going behind to the home side.He now faces three weeks on the sidelines after tearing a muscle in his thigh, meaning he will miss Spain’s clashes with Belarus and World Champions Germany, as well as Chelsea’s Premier League tie with West Bromwich Albion and their trip to Schalke in the Champions League. The Chels 2,502
Except under Jose, the n10 is the leader of the press and one of the reasons why Chelsea has a good defense overall...Well our defensive system doesn't look great with Cesc at CM in the big games. It's surely easier for him to press high up the pitch (where his end product is also much better than that of our other AMs) than it is to defend against top teams from the CM position. Rapkun 668
I think that as long as we have Diego for the WBA game, we should be fine. lack of cutting edge costed us last season to them, had we finished them off when we were up 1-0 both ties they would never have made it back into the game. However, I can't imagine us playing against teams that park the bus without Cesc. iseah100, The Chels and kellzfresh

CHOULO19 24,332
I think he knew he'd be out for a couple of weeks if he decided to play against pool and he did it.I love that our players are willing literally risk their bodies for Jose and the team. Barbara 15,149
Cesc doesn't have a direct replacement in the side. Playing with both Ramires and Oscar is the closest we get, but still far from what he delivers. He'll be missed, hopefully we'll handle without him. We did the corresponding fixtures last season. NiclasCFC 2,582
Matic can play that role. Matic is a god at what he does, but no he cant do what Cesc gives this team.
Nike 373
Nobody's as good a cesc's delivery with corners and set pieces tho...thats true.Willian/oscar/schurrle all kind of sucked on the corners.. However, for other set peices, Oscar/schurrle are sufficient enough.

We did the corresponding fixtures last season. We never. We drew 2-2 and really it should have been a 1-2 loss because Ramires clearly dived to win the penalty which Hazard converted. But if he does miss out hopefully the increased winning mentality and actually having a quality striker will help this time. RoyalBlues 4,050
No, I am almost sure Fabregas is really injured. Not with intention to mocking Spain with a fake injury. All the parties know the risk before Pool games, and go for it, it is just happened the moment right before international break.Of course the international break is one aspect as a consideration to smooth the decision, but I think knowing how important the Pool game is, it will be the same decision if there is no break. OneMoSalah 8,886
If he is injured and is missing for a few games I don't think we will see a huge difference to be honest because teams have went to mark him in certain games but there will be a bit of a difference. Still I think Oscar and Matic are more than capable of running the game in central midfield but we will see.Its injuries like this one which sometimes leave me wondering what if Oscar and Matic don't control the games as well as Cesc does? Not having a direct replacement for Cesc is a bit difficult but we will see if he really is out injured for a few games, Ramires brings something different to the table though so if he does play next to Matic and Oscar continues to play as he does in tandem with Cesc and Matic, Rami's runs in more advanced areas could give teams a different issue to face. Although wasn't Ramires also not meant to have played through an injury too?
MrExcalibur100 7,124
Cesc must be thanking his lucky stars that he got rejected by the shower of shite, woolwich wanderers.
