It seems we'd all be ok with this signing whereas the CFC fans on Twitter are bitching and crying about it saying "If Mikel isn't good enough, Song definitely isn't" etc. I wonder how much they've actually watched Song play :wank2: It's odd how the personalities on here, Twitter, and then WAGNH all contrast quite greatly.

They still think Torres is the best striker Chelsea have ever had.

Hi friend!

Totally agree.

But you believe that Song would preclude the arrival of Witsel?

Right now we have: Matic; Fabregas; Oscar; Willian; Ramires; Mikel; RLC, Aké and (maybe) Zouma to play in our midfield.

1. Matic, Fabregas and William are untouchable.

2. Zouma will be centre-back, but can play on midfielder at times (And for me Zouma is untouchable).

3. Oscar and Ramires could be on the market if a really good deal appears.

4. I think Jose will bet strongly on Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

5. Aké will be on loan next season (I trust Ake).

6. And it seems that Mikel might be thinking of leaving us.

I think Jose will sign a TOP midfielder, like Koke, Pogba, Gundogan ... not them, but a player of that profile. And I think Witsel could be that midfielder. He's not a top player,

obviously, but I think he could be a good signing to accompany Matic in midfield if the market does not offer anything better.

Song at the place of Mikel, and Witsel or someone similar to midfield.

I read that Witsel had doubts to come to the Bridge because he wants his place in the starting eleven guaranteed thinking at Euro 2016.

Our midfielders would be: Matic, Fabregas, Willian, Zouma, Oscar (doubt), Ramires (doubt), RLC, Song?, Witsel?. With Mikel and Aké (on loan) out.

By the way. And I insist, William Carvalho would be an interesting option.

Regards.

Possibly not, but I would like to think it's Song or Witsel, rather than both. I hope we do go all out for that star midfielder that will improve our starting eleven, but it's looking unlikely as it currently stands. Pogba is the main candidate that meets that criteria and him being HG is even more reason to go after him. However, the recent news that Oscar is likely to stay will probably forbid any potential move during this window.

The best choice fot Mikel replacement right now. HG player who is solid and well-known in English football. I'd be pleased with this signing. The first thing, which comes to my mind when I hear his name, are his assits to RvP volleys against Everton and pool. Cesc style :D

The fact that only Mata, Silva & Valencia made more assists than him during his last season at Arsenal is quite bonkers. That was a freak season. If he can play anything like he did then, he's worth double what he'll leave Barcelona for.

He is more Mikel 2.0 than 2013 Song these days. Slightly better than Mikel, but looks like lost alot of mobility. And I absolutely hate how careless in posession he is.

Song from 2013 was a beast though

Do it. HG and better (if only slightly) than Mikel. Used to have a bit of dynamism in him too.

Him, Schweinsteiger, and a top RW would be epic, because for me, Song-Bastian isn't THAT much of a downgrade on Matic-Cesc.

I think he's a significant upgrade to our Mikel. He's a different player for Nigeria.

Here we go, cheaper alternative as I predicted. Totally against this transfer. Homegrown factor is no factor at all, we don't have problem with this.

Hopefully someone leaked this interest to quicken negotiations in other businesses. City have bigger problems in HG department so they can have him.

I'd only accept this transfer if that has to save money for other big signings.

Decent. The price and HG status is what makes this appealing. He won't make us stronger in Europe but will help our quota...

Au contraire. Provided he can get anywhere near his Arsenal form he could rest Matic in small games. Say we play Leicester the weekend before our Barcelona away game - it'd be easier to stomach than Mikel And that would make us stronger in Europe.

It won't make us better in Europe as our big game shape is usually 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with Cesc in the 10. In both instances we need another body in there to be a force in the midfield, Song's not that guy.
