Tomo 21,751
He has been 'ready' ever since his stint at Reading, why we loaned him out to Forest the following year while keeping PVA ill never know.I also remember watching late kick off a couple of years ago (while he was at Reading) and Steve Claridge was asked if he (Ryan) would make it at Chelsea, he responded with a straight no
CHOULO19 24,332
I really hope his injury isn't bad. Was MOTM for me today, didn't put a foot wrong and kept both Walcott and Gervinho in his pocket all the time.
Ollie 4,400
Just like Cahill against Barca and now today, Bertrand will grow so much keeping a clean sheet and playing so well against such opposition. His Chelsea future is secure now i hope and he's proved he is good enough to deputise for Ash.
Jase 43,479
Thought he was excellent again today. Kept Walcott quiet and he showed he's got the burst of pace in him when he ran past Sagna at 1 point in the first half only to be pushed down. BlueLyon 9,359
Needs bit of experience and games played, but very good lb. It will blow me up if we buy another lb in summer, aka Perreira from porto.

Madmax 9,219
The board/manager next season deserve to be flogged publicly if Ryan does not feature prominently. Tomo
BlueLyon 9,359
Funny, he just needed few games and now he is in good position to become regular. What would happen to our young players if we tried them in matches like Ryan? Probably no shitty loans, but now we would have Borini, PVA, Bruma, Mceachran,...Sad we wasted lot of our players, not giving them chance in first team. Tomo 21,751
Remember the debate whether or not he should have played against United?well i think he answered that question yesterday.
DYC. 7,542
This is what can happen when you actually give young players a fair chance. I can only hope Ryan's case is the first of many to come.

warnie_666 1,081
If we get a new manager, then Ryan's career could be affected. I remember Scott Sinclair given fair bit of run by Mourinho. Mourinho was sacked and Scott was later loaned for game time. Ryan is getting similar runs from Di Matteo but a new manager will want another left back.FOR ANY YOUNGSTER TO FLOURISH, MANAGER STABILITY IS IMPORTANT!! LDN Blue 7,903
FOR ANY YOUNGSTER TO FLOURISH, MANAGER STABILITY IS IMPORTANT!!Exactly, so damn true. With each new manager arrives, the more these kids have to again prove themselves and start from square one. While you could argue they should be doing that anyway, different managers would earmark different kids they'd want to see brought through. Fair play to Bertrand for sticking out this long, most would've called it quits by now. Justin_3d and Bosnian Blue

Sheva. 5,373
Nah can't see him leaving, he's done well when he has played recently, and looks like a proper successor for Cole.We would be stupid to sell or loan him.

Kojo 4,676
Big thanks to Matteo for playing him, had been AVB, it would of been Ferriera there. kiaretta985
BleedsBlue 1,549
His performance against Arsenal showed that he is capable of performing in the 'big' games also.Cole is not getting any younger and Bertrand could be a great replacement for him.I'd be gutted if Chelsea get a world class left back like Alba in the summer. WilsonMay 12
It is a big nono to sell or loan him.....we need a potential left back to take over ash...when he leave.
