The_Flash 1,144
I'm not sure it was only a striker.I didn't see the game but the line-up was quite negative, far more negative than the one against Stoke. Like we would rest the players playing deep and letting our front 4 do the work and reading stuff about our first half was a bit like that until we pushed with more people. It was a bit like that against Hull when the front 4 had to do all the work between themself and had difficulties to break them.Looking at our line up, the fullbacks were chosen because of their ability in duels and Ramires Mikel are not good against team defending deep, Mikel is too slow and safe and Ramires is not a great passer and recycling the ball fast.Well saying that you clearly didn't watch the game, the whole team gave their best many different plumbers tried shots on goal but it was like a brick wall. West Ham had no intention of trying to win the game they just put their whole team in their box for practically 90 minutes. If the ref had done his job for once we could have had easy 3 penalties god one would have done it would have been the emptiest the box was all game but of course he didn't want us to win he gave them many poor decisions and ignored so many bad tackles on our players
calculatingInfinity 1,472
Can't blame West Ham for playing the way they did, it proved to be the correct one for them. The lineup from Chelsea however was rather dissapointing and shows how much Chelsea lacks some strength up there. Ba could have been the solution to that, but he came in way too late, although still managed to do a few good things. Also rather dissapointing with players like Mikel who offers absolutely nothing offensively starting when the opposition is playing with 11 in their own box. Also jesus fucking christ, learn to cross Ramires. bababoom 4,478
Tony Gayle was also fucking annoying, you can tell he loves 'typical British football', hit it up to the big man... sorry mate football has moved on, far too long has the English game been held back by that type of football. Seria A in the 90's was miles ahead of the English games in terms of quality and tactics.. finally we have moved on.I know a few teams still do it, nothing wrong with it, but i hate when commentators try and big it up. You constantly hear commentators (who are ex pros) say i love this type of football, or something like "now a days players cant cope with the physicality" fuck off mate, football has moved on for the better, it's like they would rather watch West Ham vs Stoke than City vs Chelsea... I remember when Andy Gray said "Messi would struggle in a cold night at the Britiannia Stadium", that type of backward thinking is laughable. I'm sorry for this rant, but Tony Gayle really irritated me yesterday, constantly wanking over Andy Carroll and that type of football.
EBH 283
A result? They got a draw, what sorry excuse of a team calls a draw a result? Oh yeah, ones fighting relegation, cunt! This is sounding very bitter.. I am very amused by Allardyce, he is a funny man, putting Mourinho in his place... Mourinho, who thinks he is such a media genius, getting humiliated like this, it is hilarious, I think.
EBH 283
Also, everybody complaining about the West Ham tactics, you are sounding like Barcelona fans. Stop being embarrassing. This is a very valid way to play football, when one inferior team is playing a superior team, this is the only way. I was happy to see this, it brings back good memories of 2011/12 Champions League...

Listening to Gayle last night was fucking laughable, even my 7 year old kept saying "Dad is this mug for real" he kept saying everything that wasn't correct constantly. He was willing WHU to get a goal and or point all game. This guy is a complete tit of the highest order, he isn't even anywhere near the standard of what a commentator should be. joshmercury 20
The most damning statistic of the match was not that we had 35 odd shots, but that west ham only 1 shot. While their ultra defensive attitude was the primary reason. I think as most would agree we just have a tactic and defensive shape that is more aligned towards defensive solidarity than attacking play like Liverpool or City.Latter 2 s tactics are spot on when they face these teams. But my question is when the opponent has only 1 shot the entire match, why not compromise on some stability and commit men forward.Although hindsight is wonderful i will argue was mourinho really expecting a big Sam's team to come attacking.I wish that some irrelevant game we try 2 up top and play with only 1 holding midfielder. Finally there are 2 ways at looking at west ham having only 1 shotWhile some would say the defense was very good, I would say it is inexcusable to not score in a match where the opponent has only 1 shot.It simply means our team was afraid of not conceding over scoring especially in the first 60 mins. Our recent defensive record is remarkable but when you are not scoring it means nothing.

I never criticize a team for parking the bus because we have done it many times, but getting cocky over a point is stupid. Fair enough if fat Sam got 3 points, but he didn't. It's a good result for them, but I would just be quiet about it. His team are shocking and are probably going down.

On the train back from last night's game some bloke said Messi wouldn't last 2 minutes in the PL , i challenged him on it and had him tripping over himself. Toli 977
As said previously, cant blame the team. was due to mous shit team selection and awful substitutions. we are now under pressure against City, but their style of play favours us more. of course we also had bad luck againgst West Ham, but mainly it was due to Mous shit tactics and negative approach. Rmpr 8,977
One of those games. Couldn't break them down in the end. Another day and we break through early and we win 5 or 6. It happens. Thought lamps was gonna bury it at the end though.Exactly, it wasnt such a bad performance. It was just that the resut didnt go our way!Incredible how people are giving up on the title and everything. What did they think? That we would go 100% until the end of the season?
