According to some reliable belgian newspapers eden is earning 140k/ week , thats nowhere near that 185k pounds people are saying and by my knowledge he didnt sign a new contract since arriving here.

Kompany is the best earning belgian in the epl with 155k/week

i read in an article that FFP allows a club to have a loss of 37.5mil pounds over the 2 seasons of 2011-12 and 2012-13 but as well as 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14.

with us losing 49.4mil last season and a profit of 1.4mil in the CL winning season, it takes our total to -48mil pounds. subtracting about 15mil from that which was spent on academy, its still -33mil and we have a leeway of only -4mil odd this season.

compared to last season where we spent about 63.5mil pounds, this year we have so far spent 56 mil pounds (willian+etoo, mvg, schurlle). but add to that the transfer deal of atsu, cuevas, matic and minus the deal of kdb, we almost get the same figure as the last year.

the CL money and the PL money, coupled with the kit deal and the new TV rights would probably bring the number down from 49mil but not sure if its good enough to have us break even.

Probably not breaking even but there are a lot of things that wasn't included in that report. If we spend wisely this January and in the summer the number will definitely improve - the new sponsorship deals, the new TV rights deal, hopefully some decent CL money if we reach like the quarter finals or semis and PL money...

We're fine. Don't forget we also have a huge asset in Mata (probably around £30m in itself) as well in the summer.

And we could sell Lukaku, Moses, Marin for 15-20 million pounds.

Courtois could be sold for a good amount of money or our new keeper wich would be a bargain.

Traore will a be a good player for us that we bought for peanuts.

Without forgetting all the good young players that maybe not good enough for us but still be sold for decent money.

Selling Mata and De Bruyne gave the club a profit of around £34m for the ongoing financial year. Their replacements Matic and Salah did cost a large amount of money but their fees will be amortised for the next five and a half years so no matter what the January window will still end up as a huge financial success for the club. Also, with both the new broadcasting deal and the upgraded adidas contract kicking in this year (£35m extra according to WAGNH) the club should be in a very good position to comply with the FFP rules, might even post a healthy profit this year depending on how well we do in various competitions.

Threads like these always become so fun to read. Where average joes get into financial discussions about our club.

As if we dont have more than enough people with more than enough experience and knowledge to know what is going on and how our finances are looking.

Plus no one of us really know what goes on behind the scene.

Well, leave us average joes to discuss it then. You don't have to open the thread you know.

Have been very happy and surprised we have taken FFP so seriously.

Thought it might be the case when we started stockpiling young talent before any rules were enforced. Not only were we hoping for a Barcelona style system where most first eleven come from the youth system but that we can also start selling at a profit.

Speaking of selling when have we done that? Mata, Sturridge, KDB all indicate we are trying to be accountable. This was enforced when we complained about City. It was clear that we were upset that while they haven't been giving a stuff we have been strict about our policies.

Finally we have kept our wages stable and expect the same once Cole, Torres and Eto are gone.
