It's again Di Marzio, not Palmeri! you people are a pain in the ass for saying the same thing every freaking time. Palmeri just writes what he reads most of the time. (In the Cavani saga he did posted some bs himself)

I'm happy, no more Lampard or Mikel in our regular first 11, hopefully...

Put him on Ice. A striker is all we need to be celebrating in May.

Not entirely true. We lost Van Ginkel for the year so currently we don't have a full compliment of mids. that is evidenced by the sub par play by Ramires lately... He's being run into the ground, we need another midfielder as much as we need a striker for me.

Out of all the CM's in europe why this guy. our transfer policy just keeps getting weirder and more retarded each year. I bet some people will try to put a positive spin on this move and try to insult our intelligence by painting Guarin as the second coming of Viera

I think it's clearly Jose's signing. And what are the names of all the midfielders who are available in January? spill it.

Look no further than Ilkay Gundogan, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal if you want the future. Would rather have De Rossi than this untested upstart at Inter. A few more English players would not go a miss. Lets keep the bar high and think about the cash later.

People are looking at this like Jose is bringing him in to solve our midfield problems. No, he isn't going to solve anything. Solving should have been done last summer, now it'll be done next summer. Guarin is only coming in to make sure they don't get worse before we can find a solution next summer.

At least Jose has identified that the midfield needs help.

For the future? I agree about the names you mentioned, but we need a CM right now. I hope that in the summer we'll go for one of those world class midfielders. If this signing means we won't do it, it will upset me to, but I realy don't think so. Jose can't make this mistake twice summer after summer, I believe.

This will be the very definition of an underwhelming signing. This guy wont improve anything except our depth which imo is not our biggest issue, our main problem is our lack of quality in midfield and this guy will hardly improve that.A big D minus!

If you really believe any of those would be available in January you're deluded.

Pogba and Vidal are both enjoying life at Juve where they are fighting for the league title and it's not like Juventus need the money either. Dortmund won't sell Gündogan in January when they still have a very good chance of winning the Champions League title and the player himself will want to keep his options open till after the World Cup. De Rossi didn't want to leave Roma last summer so why would he leave now when the club he loves are a serious title contender for the first time in a very long while? And tell me, which available English central midfielder would be an upgrade to our current squad? And please don't say Ross Barkley because he's an attacking midfielder, not to mention the fact he probably won't leave in January either when Everton are doing so well and at least by playing every game there he has a good chance of making the World Cup squad.

Players like Guarin, Cabaye and Rakitic are the ones we can realistically go after in the January window and I really don't see a problem with that. Getting any of those guys now would be an improvement to our current midfield and they would also be able to play in all competitions, unlike the names you mentioned. And the people saying they prefer this or that player of the available ones, will you for once trust Mourinho to know what he's doing? If he wants Guarin and not Cabaye, then Guarin he shall get. Haven't we learnt by now that it's really no use buying players that the manager does not want?

The time to get a world class midfielder is definitely upon us and Mourinho knows this too but he also has enough experience not to go chasing windmills like poor David Moyes last summer with his unrealistic pursuit of Fabregas for the whole transfer window which left him empty handed in the end.
