Even though, I was happy to see Chelsea winning last night, I still like to ask...

Were Chelsea so good to win convincingly or were WH so shitty ?

I believe, WH weren´t much of an opposition, last night. Chelsea still needs to be tested by better teams for us to judge where this team is at.

A bit of both maybe? I don't think we were mediocre or average, but nor overly incredible either. West Ham didn't bring much to the table, but had they scored on that Demel dribble, they'd be right back in there. :)

I didn´t see any threat from WH. I even thought, our bombastic Jose could have played Essien earlier, KDB or anybody around 60th minute.

You can only beat what's in front of you, and we did, easily. Whu where poor but let's remember this was on the back of an international break where players have travelled a lot of miles and also after a poor show at home to west brom.....

Simply put we performed very well.

A match of so many fuck you's. :D

Firstly to West Ham, who never got in the game because we didn't let them. Doesn't help that they had no striker and aren't very good, although I was impressed by Morrison and also by Noble.

Oscar handed out a few to those people who suggested he doesn't have vision, or what it takes to be a number 10. The guy was fantastic again and everything went through him. His workrate was absolutely phenomenal and he took his goal well.

It also leads on to another fuck you, from Mourinho to everyone who questioned his selection especially that of leaving Mata on the bench. Oscar right now is simply too good to now play in that position and he is increasingly becoming our most important player. He ties everything together from defence to attack, setting the tempo for the passing and also the urgency of our pressing game.

Mikel handed out a few fuck you's to those who suggested he was too weak for this game and it was good to see him put in another solid performance....consistency is the key though.

Ivanovic got back to his early season form, was solid in defence and whipped in some absolute beauties from the right.

But the biggest fuck you has to have come from Frankie Lampard, not just to the pikeys who always love to have a pop at him as they see just what they missed out on but also to those so-called Chelsea fans who have given him shit for the last couple of weeks and suggested that he's been atrocious all season. Apparently he deserved dropping but Mourinho didn't have the balls to, he was past it, he lets us down....well FUCK YOU. :D Absolutely fantastic performance in a more fluid position, although he was still playing in the pivot but given more freedom to go forward.

Great old-fashioned Mourinho win. Felt bad for Joe Cole though.

^ good post, but Lampard has been pony recently. Granted he had a good game last night, though. He plays far better when he has less work to do defensively.

A lot of players have been poor recently, but they all stepped up.

Defensively though, Frank was very good yesterday. Second highest number of tackles and at least one of them led to a chance for us, whilst he also led the midfield in clearances. It seems to be the argument that he didn't play in the pivot but he wasn't that much more advanced than he was in the West Brom game. Mikel next to him seems to allow him to get forward more which makes you wonder if Rami might miss out on a few home games in favour of someone like Willian.

Still haven't decided on MOTM though. Oscar was again fantastic but two goals against your old team is a fantastic thing.

You forgot the 'fuck you' from Cech.

Many have been giving him too much stick in here lately.

Agreed that most have been sub-par. Frank seems to have copped most of the blame, which is a shame, but as much as it pains me to say he has stood out as one of the worst performers over the last few weeks. Hopefully yesterday's performance will arrest the slump, and as he is a man who scores his goals in clusters, you can imagine him netting another 3 or 4 by the end of 2014.

As you say he still does have a defensive function, but he was definitely the more advanced of he and Mikel, which meant there was a little more licence to roam and less defensive responsibility (slightly). Gave him the chance to impose himself more on the game and he was one of our best players alongside Azpi and Oscar last night.

Great win and probably the best game we've played all year. Not sure what everyone is going on about though. It was the same 4-2-3-1 system we always play just with Lampard getting to go forward a lot because we dominated possession. Ramires was on the right and Lampard was in the pivot though and was very good there beyond just the goals. He had a few great, quick passes to set-up attacks (Including the pass to Hazard that led to Oscar's goal.) and he defended well. Everyone played pretty well but Oscar's pressing was fantastic and Hazard created a lot. Don't like Ramires on the right and this was generally a sub-par game from him.

Thought I was going mental reading some of the posts on here. It seems as though people can't accept Frank had a good game without it being because he was in the pivot, but having looked at the heat maps (and watched the game) he was still playing in a deep role. The difference was that he was able to get forward a bit more, perhaps because of the opposition, perhaps because of the hard work done by other players (like Oscar) and perhaps because of the inclusion of Mikel.

May very well been our best match of the season. Lamps was superb and Oscar was flat out fantastic. Great to see Dave playing very well and Iva was strong on both ends.

Jose had an idea how he wanted the match to go and sent out a well set up 11and we had no problem with the Hammers.
