We have got to play better than the Everton game, it doesnt matter we had all the possession and shots, shots don't win you anything. It is the goals that matter. It was his first game so i will allow him some slack but I really hope Eto'o improves, he could have had a hat trick, but could have doesnt matter, he really should have scored, and as everyone knows we have enough misfiring strikers. This remains our biggest problem, who is going to get a goal? :(

Looks like MvG will get the start with mou saying he picked four players 22 or under. That is unless he decides to start Schurlle up top.

Torres

Hazard-Oscar-KDB (or Schurlle)

MvG-Lampard

Cole-Terry-Cahill-Azpi

Cech

Bolded are the ones that are 22 or under.

Yes, I'd rather have etoo start but i dont think he will. I'm guessing Willian will make his debut sometime during the game

4 players under 22 means???

lets do some calculations

none of our striker, cant be the goalie, he wont risk kalas as a CB in the first match itself plus none of the other defenders are below 22.

so that is 6 positions accounted for.

lamps is starting so that leaves the other 4 positions. which means no mata and willian.

so i would guess

cech

azpi cahill JT bertrand

mvg lamps

kdb oscar hazard/schurlle.

striker (who cares).

atleast i hope this is the team.

Its pissing me off that mourinho doesnt want to give MVG a chance. We had good cohesion in the preseason games when he played. Maybe because it was preseason, we may have underestimated his impact and those tackles he puts in for the team. He should play this match, we'll control the midfield(both defensively and offensively) better with him because of his quick thinking and passing.

He's young, he is getting slowly adapted to Chelsea and the huge expectation's. Unless he proves he doesn't need to be integrated slowly (like Oscar did against Juve and Arsenal last season).

Can we even add them to the squad? I know we can in the PL because they are U21, but can we do that in the CL as well?

18.08 No club may have more than 25 players on List A during the season, two of
whom must be goalkeepers. As a minimum, eight places are reserved
exclusively for “locally trained players” and no club may have more than four
“association-trained players” listed on these eight places on List A. List A must
specify the players who qualify as being “locally trained”, as well as whether
they are “club-trained” or “association-trained”. The possible combinations that
enable clubs to comply with the List A requirements are set out in Annex VIII.
18.09 A “locally trained player” is either a “club-trained player” or an “associationtrained player”.
18.10 A “club-trained player” is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the start of
the season during which he turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during
which he turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been
registered with his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire
seasons (i.e. a period starting with the first official match of the relevant
national championship and ending with the last official match of that relevant
national championship) or of 36 months.
18.11 An “association-trained player” is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the
start of the season during which the player turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the
season during which the player turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality
and age, has been registered with a club or with other clubs affiliated to the
same association as that of his current club for a period, continuous or not, of
three entire seasons or of 36 months.
18.12 If a club has fewer than eight locally trained players in its squad, then the
maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.

So that's a "No" since Josh and Chalobah were not specified on the List A.

He should let him come from the bench more often but anyways there r more matches in the next two weeks. Surely he'll even start some matches now
