So would Ba be sold if Eto'o is brought in?

Can already see him having scarce minutes with just the three we have now. Surely he wouldn't be happy being 4th choice when he could easily move to a mid or bottom table side and be unquestioned 1st choice.

Samuel Eto'o will be forced to take a £250,00 a week cut in wages if he wants to join former boss Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho is considering a reunion with his former Inter Milan striker who has been told to find a new club by Russian club Anzhi.

Eto'o has been the world's highest paid footballer on an astonishing £350,000 a week with his current outfit but owner Suleyman Kerimov, in one of the most dramatic fire sales ever ,has put everybody up for sale.

Mourinho is considering a move for the 32-year-old seeing him as a player who can drive the club forward for a year when striker Wayne Rooney - with just a year left on his contract - may be in a different position at Manchester United.

However, there is no chance of a second Russian oligarch - Roman Abramovich - paying him anything near his current wage and with Financial Fair Play regulations kicking in has made it clear that £100,000 will be his top offer.

Mourinho has set his heart on eventually signing Rooney be it this summer or next and doesn't want to lock himself into a three or four year contract with anyone else.

So he sees a one year Eto'o contract with a year option on that as a short term answer to the current dilemma.

Eto'o, commenting on the record regarding possible Chelsea interest, said on Wednesday: "There is only one Jose Mourinho. I have played under a lot of great coaches - but there is no other character in the game like Jose,"

Liverpool are also watching the situation.

Sky Italy is shit.

But not Di Marzio...

Gianluca Di Marzio, very reliable journalist, says "Chelsea are infront of everyone for Eto'o".

He's a Sky Italy journalist but dont judge him for that, he discovered A LOT of things this summer. A LOT. He also says Man u are interested btw.

You dont know Gianluca Di Marzio. anything else from Sky Italy can be bs, but not when it comes from him.

He's hands down the best journalist in this transfer window.

Gianluca Di Marzio, Gianni's son, the only guy I trust when it comes to rumours coming from Italy. Unlike other journalists such as Palmeri, his sources are solid. Best mercato journalist in Italy w/o a doubt.

@tancredipalmeri

Eto'o agent revealed to magazine Panorama that Chelsea meeting has been very positive,and they'll go on Eto'o if Rooney deal won't happen(1)

@tancredipalmeri

Also, Eto'o agent added that his first option is a comeback to Inter, but their offer is still far from his request (approx 1.5m € distance)

Here is the Panorama interview:

Don't want Eto'o at all. Probably would score a few goals however I don't want a 30+ plus striker here on wages over £100k a week. No thanks. People say Rooney will demand more wages than Eto'o however if we were to get one out of the two I would rather Rooney at the age of 27 than Eto'o at the age of 32.

so you know Panorama are not credible? how?

I couldn't care less whether it's Panorama, Blue Peter or Newsnight, anything that comes either from or through this bloke should be trusted like Gary Glitter around kids.

He didnt say that. 100%. You are mistaken him with someone else.

You can try and look for it.

Yes he did say it. I distinctly remember he did. He also got most of his "predictions" wrong this summer. Especially in Italy regarding deals like Jovetic to Juve, Isla to Inter..etc.
