Sociedad just confirmed at a press conference that Madrid have paid the buy-out clause for Illarramendi. the transfer fee is to be believed between 36-39 million euros.

It will cost 39M to get the letters of his name on the back of a shirt.

on the back of the shirt it says only Illarra. so not really a problem :D

Hazard, Neymar, Goetze, Isco and now illaramendi. nowadays,,all big club is not again buying a Big name for the huge price but buy the young talent has more potential in long term to anticipate FFP...

we'll see,,who's the first to get Ballon d'or after CR7 and Messi era...

A risk paying his full buyout clause now but if he carries on how he has been playing he will be worth it and more. These type of midfielders are rare in today's market so they come at a premium. Fantastic signing.

Who pays €39m for a player who only has a season and a half of top flight football under his belt at the age of 23? And a defensive midfielder none the less.

Sure, he was good last season and played a big part in Real Sociedad making it to the Champions League places but that price is still way too high. For almost 40m I'd expect to get the absolute best defensive midfielder in the world and not just someone who could potentially become one of the best if he succeeds.
