King11Didier 916
Sorry for the names but I thought "/" will appear So,we let 2 keepers go so we can buy someone like Begovic. He was speculated to transfer to Chelsea a few seasons ago,but with Butland on Stoke goal I think they could sell him somewhere and I think he won't be so sad to be second choice in Chelsea. In deff we could call Kalas back from loan and hope to get good number of games and to show what he got.On the left we need new LB and we can see Coentrao on it and think he will be good enough to make name in PL.In Middfield:If we sell Mikel we have several options.Essien,Romeu, van Ginkel(If we buy him) and Ramires.I hope Oscar to get more chances in def.mid. position.I think he would be amazing in that role with someone who think at first for deffence like De Rossi. He is a great player with a lot of class. For me he will be very good singing for Chelsea even that someone think he is too old.KdB could also play there,I think.Of course I don't forget Frankie, but I think Jose will give more time to some young players in mid.Let's see what is it in att.mid.:Players there can play on right,in the center or on left so we just need to see what players we have in att.mid. without thinking so for their exact position.KdB should be starter in most games of the season.I think we don't need to sped so much money on Schurle. In the center we have our magician Mata and on the left a bit improved Hazard.Moses to stay for rotations.Oscar could also play in att.mid. so we have him too.If we sign van Ginkel he could also be rotated with Mata.Marin and Piazon can go on loan somewhere in Premier League to get more playing time.Attack:Cavani is strongly speculated to Chelsea so I think he will lead our attack with Lukaku to compete with him.If we get Cavani or Lewa maybe we will sell Torres or Ba.Or even both of them, but I won't be sad if we don't buy new striker and have Lukaku,Ba and Torres.I'm hoping only for more time to Lukaku.Speculations about Matic return have increased in last day so maybe we can get him instead of De Rossi. But I thnik we will look a bit dump to sold him and buy him again with a lot of more money going to Benfica.Hope you didn't get borred with my thoughts and I'm sorry for the mistakes in my English. Jype 6,398
Not going to choose a starting eleven because it clouds the big picture. To win the league title we need a team, not just 11 individuals, and it's really not very useful to post the first choice starting lineup because in the ideal situation we won't have one and instead we would have a proper squad full of players who can come in and do the job whenever needed. Here's my team for next season:CF: Cavani, Lukaku, (Ba)AM: Hazard, Mata, Oscar, De Bruyne, Moses, Schürrle / HulkCM: De Rossi, Van Ginkel, Lampard, Ramires, MikelDF: Luiz, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Kalas, Azpilicueta, Cole, BertrandGK: Cech, ??, BlackmanTorres, Marin, Essien and perhaps even Demba Ba out this summer but certainly wouldn't mind Ba staying either. Lukaku, KdB and Kalas recalled with Cavani, De Rossi, Van Ginkel and one out of Schürrle and Hulk to come in as new signings. Piazon, Chalobah, Romeu, Ake etc. to go on loan with an option to re-call in case our midfield gets plagued by injuries. New backup keeper to replace Turnbull and Blackman to be promoted as third choice.

TorontoChelsea 4,064
Can someone please explain to me why Oscar is still being left out of the people's first 11? Please, anyone?Pretty simple. We're likely going to play a 4-2-3-1 and Hazard and Mata both had excellent years which Oscar didn't and are definite starters which leaves one position (presumably on the right) open. We have Schurrle, De Bruyne, and Oscar for that position with Oscar being the least natural winger of the three. He's going to be a regular fixture and an important player for Chelsea, but if he's part of our best XI is certainly up for debate.
Tomo 21,751
The close season has a tendency to make a lot forget about just how much of a squad game football is these days. The comments about Lukaku getting no game time if we get Cavani testament to that. TorontoChelsea 4,064
The close season has a tendency to make a lot forget about just how much of a squad game football is these days. The comments about Lukaku getting no game time if we get Cavani testament to that. Not really. Because if we got Cavani, we'd have four strikers in what would likely be a one-striker system. We wouldn't be paying 50M or whatever for Cavani to play him part-time. He'd start about 45 games. That leaves 15 starts and sub appearances. Whoever the second striker is will get a lot of time, but after that, it will be minimal. In the past, managers including Mourinho have been able to get strikers more time by adapting systems but that would only work by giving less time for our attacking midfielders which is our strongest position. Do you really want to take of Schurrle or Oscar in order to shoe-horn in a second striker on the wing?
Bir_CFC 3,455
New signings:GK - Backup to Cech, preferrably home-grownLDM - Holding mid, De Rossi hopefullyRDM - Box-to-Box mid, Van Ginkel possiblyMy rationale behind this formation and those players:As you can see I have Oscar in the middle and slightly deeper than the other 2 "wingers". It's really a 4-2-1-3 with the "1" playing a little deeper than a CAM but with the LW/RW playing high up with the striker, essentially a 4-3-3 but I wanted to give Oscar or whoever else plays in the middle more freedom thanks to the assurance of 2 midfielders behind him. This solves 2 major areas of concern for us. First, the lack of a player in the middle of the pitch to set the tempo and help control the game, second, someone who can link the midfield and attack so Hazard & co. don't have to drop too deep. Added bonus, is that you're finally playing Oscar in his best position. The major weakness I see with is Mata on the RW as he will drift in and won't be able to provide adequate defensive cover. This is where the RDM (box-to-box) will help. Whenever Mata plays RW, he will undoubtedly come central, this is where Ramires will move wide to cover the flank or even overload it. Oscar will also play a part here because he can now cover the middle of the park if Ramires is on the right. Against weaker teams, instead of Ramires you let Oscar cover the right and let Ramires makes runs from deep through the centre. Mikel (LDM) will always be holding, so we'll always have one guy back for protection.Against, weaker opposition, or when you need to score, I'd simply flip the midfield triangle leaving one holder and two attacking CMs. You can do this without making one substitution. Ollie 4,400
Guessing with the players we have that 4-2-3-1 will be retained. Thinking this may happen.
