Tonight was a big chance to show Jose that he has his place in the squad - I think he blew it, doubt he would get many more stats unless he scores a goal or two as a sub.

His place will be in serious doubt if we sign another striker.

I do feel he does need a run in the team before being written off - but he needed to score a goal tonight to be given such a run.

Anyhow Lukaku is clearly our best striker so I hope he starts against United. I hope he can tear them to shreds. Only player up top which unsettles opposition defenders and is able to get into shooting positions often.

And I'm disappointed with some members because Torres takes 2 years with kajillion of played matches to make some people realize he is actually shit, while Ba only gets 1/100 of the credit Torres had...

If you bought a brand new Iphone and even though you don't like it you are not going to throw it away and buy a new one because it costs quite a bit. On the other hand, if you buy a pre owned nokia for £20 and doesn't like it, you will just throw it away anytime you like. Same situation here, Torres was given more chance because of his price tag and the fan's desperation to see him success. You buy a new Mac running IOS but don't know how to use it, of course you are going to hope that you will eventually master it like you used to with Window, because it is damn expensive.

He was always isolated with 5-6 Villa players around him. Our midfield and AMs created absolutely NOTHING for him. His performance can't be compared to Lukaku because we scored shortly after the Belgian came on and Villa then pushed forward to get an equalizer leaving spaces behind them while Ba did not have any spaces when he was on.

I think playing two different strikers in two games tells you all you need to know about how unsure Jose is about what he's seen already. If we had an out and out top class striker you wouldn't of seen a change in that position like we have in the last two games, unless an injury occurs.

People are calling for Lukaku because of how short of quality our other two are. He hasn't played so it's more like 'he can't be any worse' he probably can't but what if he is? We aren't on easy street here, and it's why we need a top class forward like Rooney.

Lukaku is still raw, and he deserves his chance but I am not one to pin my hopes on him flying out of the blocks.

I expect him to start as well, and I don't mind as long as he can link up with the 3 behind him like he did on Sunday. Lukaku can be the impact sub like he was against them on SAF's last game in charge.

I made that conclusion, simply because I can't see we would sell Torres or Lukaku. Ba will might be sold or loaned.
