Yeboii 1,844
our society is more violent now .. The world I mean not just UK and USA ... Look at films and TV ,,,so much gratuitous violence ..video games ..drug and alcohol abuse all make their contribution . That and an increasingly easy access to weapons is a recipe for disaster . The problem is only goingto get worse ,, on this issue I find it hard to be optimistic. My thoughts now are for that devastated community.Blaming mass media is an easy way out. These people are just crazy

communicate 2,703
Restricting guns wont solve all the problem. It will certainly help, but the massacres will continue (maybe on a slower pace).Drugs are illegal and it doesnt stop people from getting to it. Guns are illegal past .40mm in Brazil and a 18 year old boy knows how to get one...I agree that it will not stop the whole problem but at least it will reduce it. I mean it's just ridiculous to hear that somebody can just buy a gun legally and use it for mass murder

I have been in US for 2 years now. When the first time I heard that in US you can bear firearm freely because it is written in constitution I thought he was joking. OneMoSalah 8,886
Seen this earlier, why do people do such things? Sometimes mankind is embarrassing. Shooting 27 innocent people, 18 of of them young children with their whole life ahead of them is sick. RIP.
Changingman_2000 876
Absolutely shocking. Terrible, terrible news. The U.S. needs to start having a word with itself and ban all guns, Listening to Obama on the radio now, as much as I rate the bloke, every fucker knows that the U.S. will just shun the subject like they normally do. Sadly pathetic and very, very predictable. We had the Dunblane massacre 16 years ago, truly shocking. Started off with Sky news breaking the story about a "shooting near Glasgow" (nothing unusual there I hear you say), as the updates got more accurate it was truly, truly shocking. Must admit, I shed a tear that day.Shows just how fucked up a lot of our society is. Andy Murray was an older pupil at Dunblane primary on the day it happened and used to get messages from keyboard warriors wishing he was one that had got shot, all because some fucking S©um reporter took the piss out of him about Scotland not qualifying for the World Cup. Murray rightly had a jokingly pop back and the rest is history. Wankers that made the comments need Ironed.Without digressing too much. My 12 year old daughter has her own library card for the local one here in Glasgow, the other week she brought back a game she had rented for a week, fucking "Grand theft auto". 12 year old, I went fucking mental when she showed me. She obviously never got to play it, I took it back to the library and gave them dogs. Fucking students sat there covering the library jobs, telling me not to take games so seriously. Wankers.Really, really sorry to hear this news. Really sorrowful night.R.I.P.

Changingman_2000 876
Just reporting now that the two hand guns he used were bought by his mother, who he shot dead then drove her car to the school. A mother buying two hand guns?? WTF?

Pizy 18,916
Do people getting their gun licenses at least get psyche evaled? I somewhy doubt it.In my state, Michigan, I believe all you need is to be of age(18 I think) and have a CCW(carry a concealed weapon) or a CPL(concealed pistol license). I could be mistaken. Either way, it's not too difficult to obtain a weapon. When I was in high school about 5 years ago I went into a gun store and they had just about any firearm you could find in Call of Duty for sale. Desert Eagle's, .57 Magnum's, dozens of assault rifles, just everything. Pretty shocking.

Amblève. 4,995
England, where no one has guns: 14 deaths. United States, and I think you know how we feel about guns - whoo! I'm gettin' a stiffy! - 23,000 deaths from handguns. But there's no connection, and you'd be a fool and a comunist to make one. There's no connection between having a gun and shooting someone with it, and not having a gun and not shooting someone.....Bill HicksLook, I'm not denying anything, all I'm trying to say is that there's so much more content in this story than fucking guns. Guns are just a means to an end, but what's this end? Stopping this free trading of guns is the first step to prevent more of these horrible massacres but it's not the last one.In a few month's time it will be 14 years since Columbine happened, but what changed?
