Fernando Torres

Market closed, really Mou?

As of now it is. IF Torres goes, we suddenly need a 3rd striker. Why he said "if he goes with 1 hour left, we are in trouble" when asked if he thinks we can replace him in last few days

Strange he said he hasn't told me he wants to leave. Then minutes later he hasn't mentioned to me he wants to leave until this moment

Fernando Torres’ agent is meeting Chelsea’s management: this summit is decisive for his future, the striker could move to Milan. The player now looks more convinced about this option: he wants to join Milan, but Chelsea keep refusing to pay the severance pay. An important detail, they’ll need to work on it. In the past season, Torres could have been sold to another English team on a permanent deal. Milan are working, new developments on the negotiation are expected to arrive soon.

I think he is saying up till this point he (torres) hasn't asked to leave. Not "He hadn't asked till leave until a few minutes/ hours ago.

14.05 Sounds like Jose Mourinho is pouring cold water on the Fernando Torres to Milan idea. He's told his press conference:

quotes_1817837a.gifWhat we have clear as a club is that we need three strikers to face this season. He is one of them. I like him as a person, I like him as a player so that if he wants to leave, it would be something he didn't say to me until this moment. Our belief for a long time is that the squad is closed. [as reported by the BBC]

-Telegraph

telegraph interpreting it as "pouring cold water" but i don't think so... he's never going to say "yes he's shite, I want him gone asap and the talks are under way and almost finished"

So January 2011 we go to Goodison weekend before deadline day while we anxiously await news of Torres transfer in.

August 2014 we go to Goodison weekend before deadline day while we anxiously await news of Torres transfer out.

Why should Chelsea pay him severance? Money grabbing twat.

That's the way we see it, but the way he'll see it is he doesn't have to leave. If he leaves he's losing out on all this money. If he stays he gets all this money. Unfortunately he's in the driving seat there.
