Oh god lol longer than I thought, what was we thinking? was we drunk :fainthv9:

By far the worst transfer in football history. Quite amazing that Roman did not sack the entire board of directors and everyone involved in making the decision.

True but to be honest I did think we had a bargain with his record with Liverpool, then the fairy dust died.

Looking only the sporting, the signing of Kaka for Real Madrid was even worse.

Real didn't need Kaka, he was a luxury signing for them and they could even afford to have him flop. Torres was signed to be main star of the team for a long time, and he nearly destroyed the ability of the whole team to challenge for titles for several years.

Transfer news: Fernando Torres set to leave Chelsea and rejoin Atletico Madrid

“It was all discussed, negotiated and agreed yesterday. It seems it is all confirmed. We have not received details from the club yet but (Atletico manager) Simeone asked for Fernando Torres three weeks ago.

Simeone would have to be a special kind of idiot to get torres to ATM. This guy is a menace on the squad morale.

Think Simeone is leaving at the end of this season to join PSG anyway so he probably couldn't careless, if he was still there for the long term I doubt he would allow Cerci Torres swap just to happen like that.

He is still a professional who has is in CL, copa and maybe in contention for la liga. Getting torres is a as very very poor decision. I hope atm don't do that.

It seems we will 'free' from Torres completely sooner than expected, no?

Surely, it will be permanent move to Atletico?

Fernando Torres is re-joining boyhood club Atletico Madrid after they outlined a deal with AC Milan that should see Alessio Cerci go in the opposite direction.

Milan have confirmed on their club TV station that 'high level talks' have taken place and hope to reach a swift conclusion. Torres is on a two-year loan from Chelsea but has failed to impress and Atletico are convinced they can rekindle the player of old on his return to Spain. They will take over Milan's loan arrangement with Chelsea and sign Torres for an initial 18 months.

:(

It just take over the loan deal, we still pay some of his wage, don't we? Plus from now if we draw against Atletico, we will face our own striker...

In Courtois case, at least Atletico fully paid his wage, in this case the player will try to score against the club who still half pay his wage...

Imagine how the reaction in here, if Torres knocked us out in CL...

The thought of Torres against us doesn't really fear me

And why would that be a bad thing in this case? If Mandzukic gets injured and we have to face Torres, I had be over the moon because we had be playing against 10 men literally.

I just never like the situation when we have to face our own player. And knowing our luck, Torres could have a God mode for one day when facing us.

Yes, maybe I'm over thinking about it, but I thought it is not impossible in a panic dying 90++ minutes, he could score.

If Torres played against us I'd expect the ex-player curse to strike and for him to score. I wonder how he'd celebrate.
