Scousers are the biggest hypocrites going, they do realise Andy Carroll left Newcastle under an even bigger cloud.

What i find really funny is that they claim there over Torres but still cant resist having a pop every 2 seconds, its like a bloke getting dumped by his missus, telling every one it was his decision and hanging outside her house every night.

That bloke on soccer am was the same bloke that played Combo in this is England right? must have been 2nd nature to him that programme, set in the 80's and he is living in the 80's, perfect laugh.gif

That's exactly what it's like. It's clearly a very bitter pill to swallow for them hence the bleating and whining and gloating at every turn. In a way, it's pretty flattering. If he was a nobody, it wouldn't matter but clearly Torres was a very significant somebody to them, much as they try to deny it now. Sure he is in a funk now, but he won't be in one forever. And then what will all the so-call pundits say then? It's actually pretty sad to hear them rout on him like this. The dude changed clubs, that's it. They'd have all done the same thing, in his position.

Didn't watch the Spain game, too bad Fernando didn't have a great game. Clearly if the manager has more in form players at his disposal, it's totally understandable that he'd select them over Torres at the moment. Hope it won't be too much of a knock on his confidence, though it's hard not to see it having an impact. He just needs to keep his head down and focus on his game and ride out this phase. As they say, it's always darkest just before dawn.

I think it goes back to the world cup when he was dropped for Pedro in the semi's and final cant have done much for his confidence.

Apparently Del Bosque said this about Torres:

"De él depende su futuro en la selección. Él nos dirá el guión a seguir. Le hemos apoyado siempre pero su futuro depende de él".

Google's translation doesn't really make sense but some Atletico fans are upset by it because it sounds like Del Bosque is warning Torres to improve or his place on the national team is in jeopardy. Can anyone provide a better translation. If it's true that DB meant it, then that's awful thing to say in public. A coach has to keep that behind closed doors and back his player. And if he's not good enough, you drop him but why say it when he's still on the team?

What I can understand :

"His future within Spain national team is up to him. He will tell us what to do. We have always backed him but his future is up to him."

So yeah, his place in the starting IX is in danger.

The Torres thread had about 50% more posts than the one for their hero, Saurez over at RAWK. A bit embarrassing so the thread has been locked. Only way to get the historians to stop talking about Torres.

While Villa continues to thrive, though, it was another game without a goal for Fernando Torres. The striker has yet to score since joining Chelsea in January, and his drought extended during a 45-minute spell against Czech Republic, but Del Bosque offered him support.

"We're excited to see how he evolves with Chelsea," he said. "We're there to work to help him."

Good to see they're all supporting him for moving. It seems they were all urging him to leave Liverpool

Fernando is doing really well. It's clear that strikers live to score, but in Granada he gave us plenty of things which people don't see such as hard work, helping out in defence and allowing others the space to play. He does work which is not noticed, but it is very fundamental for the team.

As for the goals, I think it's only a matter of time. He has always scored and he will continue doing so and therefore there are no problems.

Fernando has been playing at the top level for many years and it's not the first time he has been through a bad patch in front of goal. But when you are as good as him you don't need to worry, he needs to keep doing his job and the goals will come.

Translation for the links, please?

In the second link, Iniesta and Arbeloa are saying that Fernando labor is fundamental for the team, but is hard for the fans to see it (because he doesnt score). Basically, the members of la Roja are supporting Torres a lot, they saying that Fernando is great and the goals will come. In other new Casillas said when Fernando scores he wil explote.

Still talking about Torres. The team doth protests too much methinks. Although I can't believe Gerrard allowed himself to get dragged into this kind of talk. Has he forgotten when he was constantly saying Fernando was the best striker in the world?

remember them talking about joe cole :whistling:

Only following text but apparently Spain is playing well with Llorente. Torres won't be happy with losing his spot to Llorente, but selfishly I hope Nando doesn't come off the bench. The pitch is atrocious and I'd rather he come back without injury.
