OssiesCorner 14
His goal today was one of those famous "lucky tap in's", had that been Kalou instead of Torres his player profile would be flooded of comments about how shit and lucky he is.Yes, because this forum contains way too many boys who barely have gotten out of their diapers and knows nothing about club relations and support.Sturridge always trying to make things happen? Did you watch us play after Christmas last season? There is a reason why RDM plays Torres and not Sturridge. Or maybe you should take the job? How many trophies have you won on Championship Manager? Jype 6,398
Oh are you serious? look back at this time last year i was one of Torres's biggest backers, i thought with Mata coming in, a full close season off and more settling into London surrounding's he would come good, i was patient through 10 months of shite displays and lack of goals, it wasn't until the Arsenal and Blackburn matches i started to have my doubts.and yes out of the two Danny is number 1 for me until Torres proves otherwise with displays on the pitch for me. Danny when he has bad games still tries to make something happen, Torres just hides, the Arsenal 5-3 game is the prime example. His goal today was one of those famous "lucky tap in's", had that been Kalou instead of Torres his player profile would be flooded of comments about how shit and lucky he is.Spot on. It amazes me how Torres has to be treated like he's a fucking child. Oh no, do not criticize the mighty Torres or he will lose his confidence again (like he ever had it during his time at Chelsea). I was fully behind him for a year and got ridiculously happy every time he scored one of those rare goals and always thought that maybe the old Torres is finally back. Every time it turned out he was nowhere to be seen and in the next match we saw that same old uninterested and lazy Torres again. If someone dares to criticize the lad, it's always because they are 'haters' who never liked Torres and never because he's been nothing but a huge expensive pile of shit since moving to Chelsea. I was a fan of his for the first 12 months of his Chelsea career, but after that I simply lost faith in him. I didn't start to hate him or anything and because he is still a Chelsea player I always get happy to see him do well, but the amount of praise he gets after such a mediocre performance is unbelievable and that's what makes me want to put some facts to the table. It's not a way to undermine him or anything, but it irritates me to see people celebrating him scoring an offside tap-in like we won the Champions League again. Why not support every other Chelsea player like that? If any other one of our players comes up with a usual Torres-like utter shit performance, they will get an unreasonable amount of abuse thrown at them but with Torres it's always someone else's fault and the man simply can't do anything wrong. If everyone were to treat all of our players like they do Torres, I wouldn't have any problem here but I hate double standards. Naked Mole Rat 437
All this easy goals.... we need someone who know to create chances for himself.Torres actually creates quite a lot of chances for himself and others. He just doesn't know how to finish. And I don't think most of us expect anything fancy from him. Even if it's just 20 tap-ins a season, it's still 20 goals a season. Kinol 337
You are a dumb little fucker with that attitude. How do you make goals? Hint; someone has got to assist it.Goals is all that matters, right? Were Drogba shit in six of his seasons at our club?Support our players, if not then fuck off to Spuds, Spammers or Leeds. They'll appriciate you.But what is a assist. Its a pass which a another player convert into a goal. But what happends if the player doesnt convert that ball into a goal, well then it isnt an assist. Thats what torres is doing right now. It has always been the teams fault that torres doesnt do good in games. But now when the team is playing good and torres still isnt, whose fault is it? edetarod 2,155
i honestly think i we had any other PERSON as a striker today, we would have scored more goals. My observation from todays game is that he doesn't want to try and score, cause if he misses he'll get laughed at. instead what he does is nothing and lets the defender kick the ball away so he doesn't lose face. Torres is better than Messi, Winston Bogarde made Maldini look shite, infact while i think of it Petit played a lot like Xavi when he played for us and Chris Sutton? fuck me he put Fat Ronaldo in the shade. I'm disgusted when people question others' loyalty because they are critical of an underperforming player. Probably the same people booed Drogba before they booed Torres. Hell, I've never seen Torres get booed Jype and TorontoChelsea
Henrique 9,133
Was Torres really that bad? I think the problem was with the 4-5-1 system. Torres cant play as a single striker, he is not a Drogba like striker.
Chelsea75 3
If no one gives him the ball he can't score!! How many stupid shots taken today when he was open and waiting. To early to go crazy, but they need to give him chances to score..
KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
He wasn't bad but he wasn't good. However he scored a goal and that's all that counts. FormerRussianSpy

Torres cant play as a single striker, he is not a Drogba like striker. He wasn't that bad, he had some good moments and some not so good ones. But he was lively and surely looked more interested than against Wigan. Also, i don't think the formation is too much of a problem, but we should limit the amount of times we hoof the ball up to him.He wins like 2 out of 10 of those, and that just resorts to loss of possession. zolayes and The Skipper
Stats 7,142
Seriously, the comments such as "2 in 3, what are the haters saying" are absurd. Really happy that Torres got his goal but for the majority of the match was crap and did not offer anything. Had it not been for Cole he would not have been on the scoresheet, The reality is yes he scored against a promoted team but was poor IMO. When we face better teams with all respect to Reading he will find it tougher. But what many of the fans alike at the Bridge tonight saw, was a player who was not working hard and just slowed it down for the team. But it is like if Torres is finding the situation tough, he resorts to his method of not trying enough or thinking any shot or run he has at the opposition may flop and lead to jeers. I am sure RDM would have noted he was rather invisible last night ad I am sure he is thinking of adding another striker but at least he got a goal. Surely a massive confidence boost for him

Heisenberg 1,824
Torres had a terrible match , even if he scored it was a bad match for him and everybody noticed that , still we must be behind him like we always did , but the problem is that he'll never 'be back' and he has crazy wages for a player that give nothing to the team. For me if we bring Cavani it wouldnt be a surprise , if we want the title we must have a striker that scores goal.
