  1. 1. Rafa Out?

We can't be hiring Moyes, Martinez and what not. We need a strong character, someone who demands respect. None these timid managers, no matter how talented they are.

Moyes timid?

Whether you like it or not, Rafa has been given an 18 month contract subject to review - his review and the club's review after 6-7 months. You will be lucky if Rafa agrees to the extension. Some of the posts on here are illogical. People touting managers who Rafa has defeated with style since he was at Chelsea (and before) - managers who have never won anything let alone the long list of trophies Rafa has won.

Rafa is too good for some of you. And despite all your specualtiosn noen of you knew that Rafa would be offered the post last December.

Too good for us? You are having a fucking laugh "Rupert". Now, at the risk of being censured, why don't you don those lovely little yellow tartan trousers and piss off and haunt some other site. Fucking scouse git.

Mourinho's return would be Roman's attempt of soothing over the Benitez hiring with the fans and the loss of Lampard if anything. Roman might as well since managers don't trust the guy with being able to last more than six months. Of course the last time a manager talked about how great the EPL is he went to Germany the next day.

So, Who do you think is a good candidate?

Mourinho if not keep Rafa, ditching a high profile manager for a mid table miracle man is lunacy.

Moyes has worked wonders at Everton, but Roy worked wonders at Fulham, Big Sam worked wonders at Bolton, Hughes worked wonders at Blackburn and we all know what happened when they got big jobs. What has Moyes done different (apart from stay at this job longer) to suggest he will go any different from those three?

If Moyes get's the job, he will probably go the same way as Roy or Sam, fail, get another job and rebuild the reputation he had before (over achieving at clubs with limited budgets).

TBH, i don't think roman is too worried about soothing over the benitex hire. He wants to win trophys and if he thinks rafa is the way to go he won't let us get in the way. I would love it to be mourinho, but if it is it will be because roman thinks he is the best man for the job (or best available man for the job) and not some kind of peace offering.

148 pages! Amazing! Normally, I wouldn't go around saying "They won't listen to you!" because not every discussion needs to have a useful output. Not that I'm trying to make that point here either, but, with Rafa's case, isn't it pretty obvious that he'll leave exactly when his contract expires? I don't think his future at Chelsea is worth any real (heated) debate.

Voted yes, but in the summer, for Mourinho.

I have to say, Rafa's changes haven't been bad. Our defending is better and our players seem to play much more fluidly. I also believe we would have much better results if we had a few decent strikers and if Rafa didn't have a history with Liverpool and there wasn't all this bullshit going on... things would have gone a different way...

If our finishing was a bit better under Rafa, we woulda def won the QPR, Southampton and Swansea quite easily. We were the better team in all of those matches, especially against QPR and Swansea.

Yeah I know, woulda coulda shoulda, bottom line is we didn't but just trying to find some positives.

He's def made some obvious improvements to the team though, specifically with Hazard, I think he's become a much better player under Rafa. His early season form was amazing but that was cause he was the new kid on the block but I think he's def a better overall player than early in the season.
