Regarding Bale, Ramires will be able to cope with him. If everyone's fit, this would be my choice any day of the week for this game:

Cech

Iva - Luiz - Terry - Cole

Ramires - Mikel

Mata - Oscar - Hazard

Torres

I honestly cant see spurs beat us.

I honestly didn't see Spurs beating United. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Spurs beat us, although I expecting a Chelsea victory. :blue scalf:

It's not only that, but the fullbacks really get can forward for Spurs which means that both Cole and Ivanovic will need support which means relying heavily on Hazard and Mata for defensive work.

Again this isn't any different from the Arsenal game... They have to worry about us going forward more than we need to worry about them in my opinion. This is gonna be an interesting game for sure but I feel our strengths outweigh the Spurs.

Ivanovic played against Spurs once last year and he started as a CB (Bosingwa and then Ferreira as RB) had to come off in the 32nd minute. The year before, he played twice, once as a central defender and once at RB. So, he's played one full match at RB against Spurs and did OK,cContaining Bale pretty well and fouling him a 4 times but...that was 2 years ago and Ivanovic's positioning has been poor this year. Also, that team didn't need Ivanovic to get forward as much. This squad needs Ivanovic to provide width. It's possible he'll contain Bale but I think he'll need help.

I think you're over thinking this one mightily. We'll be fine Brana knows who he's up against and the problems it creates he's a smart player and steely. We won't need width to beat a team like the Spurs they play an open game and look to attack we can exploit them on the break with our pace

Just watch Freidle's last few games with Tottenham and you will see why.

Yes, but you dont pay a premium for a backup GK. It is just wrong...

But Friedel has proven his worthyness (have no idea if it exists).

I agree Tottenham should not have bought Loris, but Friedel's form has made him undroppable.

PS: "Has proved his worth" is the correct term :)

So no John Terry for this game then!

I personally think it could be a bit of a blessing in disguise.

Cahill is deserving of more games and we need to start seeing how things will be without Terry.

I don't think I really like the Cahill - Luiz partnership though.

can't wait for this. International breaks are so annoying.

got a feeling we might see Ramires on the wing for the sake of Bale. however, i really hope we dont see that, having Ramires in the DM role can still pick up Bale and leave us to have Mata, Oscar and Hazard on the attack.

I'm happy with Cahill coming in for Terry, i even think that it may actually be the right move. Defoe is very good at running through defenders and i think JT would have struggled.

This should be a win. Yes they beat United, but united aren't exactly playing well. they are doing their usual "we play shit and still win in the 90th minute" football. we've got this.

This is one of those games where once you see the line up, you'll know if we are going to win it or not!

No, it's not.

This is one of those games where you need a solid team performance to grab some points. 100% concentration for 90+ minutes.

ok ya, granted, i mean more in the sense that once you see the line up you can tell the tactical approach of RDM. if Rami and bertrand appear on the wings, we arent going to score too many. but if HOM are behind torres, you know we will likely score more goals and it'll be an exciting game of football to watch like Vs Arsenal and Vs Norwich.

More Andre: "It's important to win and get closer to the top and show improvement and keep the flow like we had before the break."

Andre: "You can see the buzz around the ground everyone looks forward to it. It will be extremely hard and we are ready to fight."

Andre: "Our stadium is a very special place to place when the fans are behind us. If the fans put on a show the lads I am sure will respond"
