Carabao Cup & FA Cup Thread

Bradford, Villa and Swansea have made it into the semi finals. We must win next Wednesday!

The only concern is that the players might be a bit tired. We have a game on Sunday to play and then have to travel from Japan all the way back to England and play a game just 3 days later. Gonna be exhausting with all the hours of going back and experiencing the change of time zone again. Not lots of options to rotate too.

This is not good!

Chelsea's hopes of finding time to prepare for Wednesday's Capital One Cup quarter-final at Leeds United have been further hampered after they were forced to put back their return flight from Japan due to noise restrictions over night-time take-offs from Toyko.

The European champions had hoped to return to London immediately after Sunday's final of the Club World Cup against Corinthians, arriving back at Heathrow in the small hours of morning. However, they will now spend an extra night in Yokohama and depart at around 11am on Monday, touching down in the early afternoon, a delay that will effectively deny the squad another 12 hours' recovery time ahead of the cup tie at Elland Road.

Chelsea had always intended to travel to West Yorkshire, for a fixture that has been eagerly anticipated by fans of both clubs, on the day of the game with preparation time horribly limited for Rafael Benítez and his players. The interim first-team manager has admitted he started drawing up a potential lineup and assessing scouting reports on Leeds as early as Friday last week though, at that stage, he could not gauge which players would be available for selection for the confrontation with the Championship side.

John Terry, who missed the Club World Cup after suffering a minor reaction to a knee ligament injury, will not be considered for the match as he continues his rehabilitation. An assessment will be made on Daniel Sturridge, another absent in Japan, to see whether he can feature after a spell out with a hamstring injury.

this could and most likely will become a corny encounter. Our rivalry with leeds and our tiredness returning from Japan won't help. Last year we had no real problems with them and our B-team made light work of them, but this time we got no experienced squad players like Meireles and Kalou, who know how to run this. We either have to rely on the maestros who will be tired as fukc or we have to hope Lamps does it again. he of course will also be tired as fuck. N o idea if a youngster would be ready to figuere here.

The trip to Japan appeared to be just a waste of time and energy and if it will have a negative impact on the Leeds game, I will be really angry.

That is a rather obvious thing to say after losing yesterday...

infact the opposite. if we lose to leeds that would probably have the FSW sacked and would make atleast me very very happy. so its a win-win situation.

Think that might be a tad too optimistic. Don't think he's gonna get sacked (yet) even if we lose to Leeds.
