Would it have been revenge?

  1. 1. In your eyes would the Nou Camp triumph still been revenge for 2009 had we lost in Munich?

    • Yes, beating them alone was more than enough
    • No, we had to do what they did in 2009 and win the final

I know its all hypothetical now, but i can remember the famous night at the Camp Nou and how we had finally got revenge for the fateful night in 2009.

Now ofcourse i see it as that now but at the time i still felt we had to win the final for it to be seen as revenge or "settling the score".

Barcelona went on to win in Rome that year so for it to be proper revenge for that horrible night in 2009 we had to do the same in Munich, in my eyes anyway.

What do you think?

No. I'd have felt like I did back in 2008 when we lost in Moscow. Beating Barcelona was amazing but if we lost against Bayern I wouldn't give a single fuck about the semifinals now, as far as I'm concerned. We had 1 mission and that mission was meant to be winning the title.

it was revenge on Barcelona because we stopped them winning a tournament which in their currently deluded lil heads is just a victory parade for them.

if we had lost the final then the ghost of moscow would live on and have become a bigger beast but i don`t think Barcelona fans could feel like they were back ontop again if Bayern beat us. it would mean that they couldn`t beat the runners up.

I think revenge is a bitter way of looking at it. The roles were reversed lol we absolutely battered them in 2009 and Drogba missed a glut of chances and we should of had multiple penalties and the game was a complete mess ! Last season they absolutely ripped us a new one for around 70 mins at the bridge, the amount of times they got through on goal and hit the post and missed one on ones was shocking and the greatest player of all time missed a penalty at the Nou camp when we had 10 men.

It didn't feel like revenge to me tbh. I had actually forgotten about that 2009 tie. We fucked ourselves at that time, we had an advantage and couldn't capitalize on it. Yes the ref was a wanker throughout, but it was he who gave us the hilarious 1 man advantage and we still had to resort to penalty appeals even when we were dominating them... and Iniesta should never have been in position to make the shot, that was another fuck up from our side.

It always feels good beating them just because they are considered the best. But I didn't see it as revenge so I won't vote. After winning the trophy I was thinking more about 2008, that finally we'd corrected the mistake. When you think about 2008 and 2009 and the manners in which we failed, you just can't help but think that it wasn't meant to be. I mean such unluck 2 years in a row and now we had all the luck in the world just as the "old guard" was about to collapse?

I didn't see it as a complete revenge. I've seen it just as a beginning of payback that will go on in future.

I hope we get them this season in the knock-out so we can kick them out again.

I hope that in few years time they will fear only when they think of Chelsea, not to speak of when they draw us in knock-out again.

This is revenge that I want.

We can never get true 'revenge'. For one thing, it's not like they paid off the ref, Abidal was sent off in acrimonious scenes, a decision as bad as any of the 4-5 penalties not awarded.

I guess they'll never feel the pain we felt until they're denied in stoppage time after having a host of strong penalty shouts. Even then its not something I would like to wish on anybody... well maybe Liverpool or Spurs. Ovrebo hurt me more than Moscow. At least in Moscow there was no third party that denied us victory, we were responsible for our own fate through our own bad luck. I don't want other football fans to go through that, its one of the most painful experiences I've had as a result of sport.
