New striker needed - but who?

This an obvious topic I think but I'm new here and just want to know what other fans think.

Since Drogba has left it is time for Torres to fully step up and become the lead, 20+ goals a season striker that we need. I have faith that this will be a good season for Torres but it is still risky in relying on him to consistently deliver week in week out. If he was to drop out of form or get injured then, as much as a love Sturridge, I can't see him being very good at leading the line if we are going to play with one up top. Watching Sturridge do this for team GB has just bolstered my view on this even more. And Lukaku is just not ready yet.

Therefore, I think it is vital that we bring in another striker. Not some £30m superstar who will put too much pressure on Torres but someone who is a general goal poacher, with the physical capabilities to lead the line and give another angle to our attack - as we are now fairly lightweight with the two African forwards gone.

From what I've seen I like the look of Seydou Doumbia from CSKA Moscow. He looks fast, strong (although quite short) and definitely has a good finish. I haven't seen this Andrea Schuurle but I've heard he's more of a winger? Salamon Rondon - just another Huge Rodallega? Victor Moses - can he play effectively as a lone striker?

Do you all want another striker for the season? And who do you think would be the best addition to fit to our changing squad?

maybe even Demba Ba if we didnt want to spend a lot.

id like Dzeko here toobut his wage demands would be ridiculous now

I like Lacina Traore. He's a big unit. Might turn out to be rubbish but you can't argue with 208 cm of Ivorian muscle.

Whoever we get he can't be a helpless baby like Torres who needs everything set up just so for him. Someone with a pair, in short; and someone who can flourish no matter how rubbish the 10 behind him are.

With Lukaku most likely going on loan we definately need another striker, i agree it doesn't have to be some superstar... like lewandowski, but he will be expensive.... We have been heavily linked with moses who isn't a bad shout... would have liked BA but apparently he can't be bought for 7 mil any more....

Big does him an injustice. He's probably the tallest professional footballer ever; he would put about 7 cm into the tallest in England.

Falcao and Cavani are imo unrealistic targets, so I'm not even gonna name them as solutions. I don't know who is out there, but I would like him to be between the age 25-30, because we have enough inexperience and youth in attack already, I would like someone who's been around the block for a few years and is somewhere around his peak.

One name that comes to mind is Huntelaar. Prolific in the box, isn't too young, isn't too old, wouldn't cost too much probably.

I also thought it would be great for us to get striker on loan, but you wouldn't get anyone on loan you want... Huntelaar is good shout but I don't think it will happen, maybe Barrios from Borrusia? If I was a manager, I'd sign Demba Ba.

We needed a new striker when DD were here, he only showed up for cup games last year. We don't have 1 good goal scorer on this team and we will never win without one. Not only do we need a RW, we need a striker that can score a lot of goals. We really don't owe Torres the starting ST position.
