all other no.10s in england. is that an elite bunch? PL has been screwed over and over and over again in europe in the past 3/4 seasons. you want CFC players to have that standard.

how many off days has matic had? how many has hazard had?

case in point

cesc - 4 goals, 20 assists - 2866 minutes - 120 minutes/goalosassist

costa - 17 goals, 3 assists - 2412 minutes - 120 minutes/goal or assist

hazard - 13 goals, 13 assists - 3236 minutes - 125 minutes/goal or assist.

even in stats these players are much better than oscar. and by the way, YOU dont care about performances, most of us do. a player can not score a goal/assist and still be a massive asset to the team - costa against liverpool carling cup semi, where he made a complete nuisance of himself throughout the match and kept their defence busy. on the other hand, some of oscar's performances this season have been painful to watch (to say the least). he has not just had a couple of off days like the players you mentioned above but he has had an off season for me and thats the difference

That's why every no 10 struggling in this league, no one will do Messi and Ronaldo in here, except both themselves. Take Oscar to Spain, and you could be surprised.

Yes that stats are all great, but I will do the opposites here, I am going with 'I care more about performance than goal/assist ratio' mode. Have they perform consistently good in every match they played so far? No. How many games Costa struggling and could not create barely a chance? More than once, more than two. Do you stopped by in Fabregas thread, and read that he is missing in big games? That's more than once, more than two. I agree Matic and Hazard has been good overall. But they are also have some off day like others.

Also it is not fair to compare players stats from different position, really unwise, if not stupid.

No, you can't judge anyone season before it is even ended. You couldn't say we already winning the PL. Why? because anything can still happen, you never know.

Judge everything, everyone when the season ended.

i dont want him to do a messi or a CR. i will be happy if he did an isco or a muller or a gotze. i will be happy if he can go through a match not misplacing a simple 5 yard pass.

are you having problem comprhending what i have been saying. yes, players will have a barren spell. every player in the world will, but the barren spell or a poor spell is not the only spell they have had like oscar's.

its not stupid to compare cesc's stats playing as a DLP and oscar's stats playing as a CAM to show that oscar has been light years behind him in goals/assists column. thats just to show how far behind oscar is compared to the rest.

i was not going to until you brought up some of the worst arguments in oscar's support (and believe me there have been many). comparing his season long inconsistecy to an off day by the 4 of the best players in the squad, blaming jose for not starting him when he has had about 2400 minutes to play all season long etc etc.

If you want to compare Oscar to Isco and Gotze who play a similar role to Oscar then you can see below that Oscar is more productive then both of them and contributes more defensivley, and Oscar does it in a team who has less of the ball then the other two.

Oscar 6 goals 7 assists - A Goal or Assist every 128 minutes

Gotze 9 goals 2 assists - A Goal or Assist every 129 minutes

Isco 3 goals 8 assists - A Goal or Assist every 141 minutes

So basically you prefer players who are more flasy then Oscar, even though they are not as productive?

Wrong again. As you can see below Oscar is clearly not 'lighht years' behind Fabregas

Cesc 2 Goals 15 Assists - A Goal or Assist every 115 Minutes

Oscar 6 Goals 7 Assists - A Goal or Assist every 127 Minutes

what stats are these? daily mail stats?

oscar - 7 goals, 8 assists- 2375 minutes- 158.33 minutes http://www.transfermarkt.com/oscar/profil/spieler/85314

gotze - 13 goals, 5 assists - 2031 - 112.33 http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mario-gotze/profil/spieler/74842

cesc - 4 goals, 20 assists - 2866 - 120 http://www.transfermarkt.com/cesc-fabregas/profil/spieler/8806

muller - 13 goals, 12 assists - 2210 - 88.4 http://www.transfermarkt.com/thomas-muller/profil/spieler/58358

isco - 5goals, 13 assists - 2618 - 145.44 http://www.transfermarkt.com/isco/profil/spieler/85288 (playing a large chunk of the season in a two man pivot along with kroos).

so you see its not even close. if it was i would have given him the benefit of the doubt but unfortunately, he is LIGHT YEARS behind these players be it in stats or in general play.

If his touch and movement on the ball was easy on the eyes or if he could dribble I don't think people would complain about him. Apart from this he doesn't have talent to create chances so his overall ability is limited. I wish his long range shooting was better, He doesn't have a nice set of attacking ability he can depend on when he's playing bad. (for example hazard always has his dribbles when he's playing bad, fabregas can still pass well when he's playing bad, coutinho can still dribble past people when he's playing bad)

For some reason he doesn't make fantastic tackles like last season when he isn't passing well so it gets frustrating during matches.

We shouldn't sell him. He's still young and there's no available quality replacement.

People keep saying Mikel etc will be sold come the summer, my opinion is this lad may well be sold too.

This, I really wouldn't be surprised if we sell them both. Maybe Ramires will leave as well IF we're really in for Pogba.

We still need good squad/back-up players, Ramires is that and very versatile.

Fake stats?

It's kinda funny when one of you took the league stats only while the other used the stats from all competitions in the argument.

ps - give me a single post of mine saying coutinho is better.

All the players having a lot of off days in several occasions. Including all the player I mentioned, including Oscar, not just once obviously. Again I don't care about his performance, all I care is contribution, and Oscar not too far behind from other teams no 10 contributions in England.

The Coutinho part is not for you. I am mocking the Coutinho worshippers in here.

I have been critical of Coutinho in the past but right now Coutinho is better than him. He has been quality this season. He is improving every game and is playing some top football. He has added goals, assists, improved his strength and his general all round play. Right now there is no denying Coutinho is performing better and is probably better than Oscar. I am not even a 'Coutinho worshipper' but you can't really say Oscar is better right now when you look how the two are performing.

The thing about coutinho is he sometimes tries too much. He can be annoying when he tries his difficult through balls passing and it gets intercepted too much.

But he's gotten better in his dribbling, and his long range shooting has now gotten better than Oscar. Because of his silky nature, when kompany and fernadinho tried to collect the ball from him, he dribbles them easily and doesn't lose the ball as oscar would in that kind of situation.

He has natural offensive abilities he can depend on while oscar has natural defensive abilities.

Coutinho has always being far more talented than Oscar that it's not even debatable. Coutinho is a superior dribbler, passer, better vision, superior first touch, more intelligent. As a matter of fact, the only aspect of the game where Coutinho and Oscar should ever be mentioned in the same sentence is defensive contribution and finishing because the former is well ahead in every other department by a huge margin.

If coutinho keeps his consistency up, the comparison will look even more foolish than it currently is. It's like comparing Pjanic to Guarin even though the colombian actually has better goals and assist stats overall this season but you only need to watch them play to know who's better and more consistent.
