When I talk of no 10's (I will exclude the ozil, silva types) this is what they look like. Notice the close control, vision, defence splitting passes, imagination and just all round fantastic creativity. These are the type of quality a top club needs and worth losing a player like mata for not oscar.

I don't have my head stuck up Jose's butt, but I do respect the man and what he is trying to do. I also think he is getting results that suggest that his system does have merit. It's sad to see Mata go but we've got fine players like Oscar, Willian and Hazard as well as great young talent who might actually come through with some stability in the coaching position.

Plus I doubt there's anything you could actually say that was worthwhile or interesting. Sorry, but having seen your efforts that's just how I feel. Players like Rui Costa, Laudrup etc. were great players but that means the square root of fuck all when we're discussing players' suitability to our coach's system. Maybe join your friend Gilvorak at the cafe. Neither of you would have to change your posting styles.

Mata's transfer will put pressure on Oscar, but people will have to be patient...

Most of Oscar's problem is that he isnt used with the pace and lack of space the Premier League offers (or in this case, doesnt). In Brazil he played in huge pitches, wilth Florida grass (which is at least twice slower) and against a lot less talented defenses!

Most of the times we see him making mistakes or giving up the ball is because he hasnt quite figured the time/space he has to make good plays or get rid of the ball.

However, we did already see flashes of brilliance and I am sure he will get over those obstacles and show us the Ballon D'Or he trully is!

(not to count the glues the team together a lot better than anyone we have)

Also, Totti and Landrup were dynamic, strong/tall players. If Mata was 6 ft tall, strong and dynamic, yea he would fit Mourinho mold. (Aimar def. not) and only thing I remember of Costa was losing to korea in 2002.

The Mata transfer will put a lot of pressure on Oscar. I hope he starts fully proving that we'll be fine without Juan - I want him to step up and consistently provide those killer passes. I hope he has that in his locker. He needs to be a lot more creative in the final third.

While he'll surely improve, I don't think Oscar will ever come close to even 50% of Mata's vision and creativity. Just a different kind of player.

He has ability to cover the goals but I don't see the assists getting anywhere close to Mata level.

Nah, Sneijder has brilliant vision, which is one thing Oscar hasn't got (yet hopefully) in his game. Sneijder has insane technique in a lot of things he does, so I wouldn't compare him to Oscar at all.

In term of that pure play-making ability, it is not even close but with the way Mourinho want us to play Oscar is the perfect player.

Hazard is 40 yards from goal when he recieves the ball, he has to beat a player and then smack it into the top corner from 35 yards.

It's a great assist if you play fantasy football I guess.

I said this before, due to hazard and oscar inability to excel in set pieces will cause both of them to never reach the amount of assist Mata got in 2012-13.

The original post I guess was on Whoscored.com (but I could be wrong, I remember someone posting this on Mata's thread a few months ago).

He's had 8 open play assists last season in EPL.
