We should sign a replacement for Oscar and then sell him. We have enough squad fillers already (Mikel, Ramires)..we don't need another one.

I just hope the board let Mourinho sign a quality CM in January....maybe we can take advantage of the situation in Paris

The day a club like Juventus approach us to sign Mikel is the day I eat my shoe.... :D

Yeah best to sell him because Mourinho doesn't trust him anymore.

He might come good but with the manager we have sometimes these younger players are best gone somewhere else so they can express themselves freely.

His passing is pretty average, decent on the ball, close control non existant and he doesn't have that turn of pace many of the top number 10s have. He's a smart player tactically and would probably do well in Serie A, but he hasn't really kicked on here. I still believe his first season with us was probably his best, after that Juventus game i was hyped but now we can safety say that was a one off. He's a jack of all trades master of none.

The only real problem is his consistency. On his day he can score wondergoal, either free kick or from play, has good positioning. He is quite intelligent player, he tracks back brilliantly and connects the midfield with attack. Very versatile; basicaly he can do anything.

But problem is that this happens once every 5 games or 5 games in row and then nothing for next three months. If he can get his consistency, he could be cracking player. I would take best Oscar over Ozils and Iscos anyday. Because he offers alot more than just final pass.

He has age on his side, I would love to see into future when Oscar is something like 28. He doesnt rely on pace either so he could perform even in 30s.

But so far he has been average and without real improvement for 3 years now. Not just for chelsea but brazil too (Imo he is even less important for them than he was).

So my guess is that we wont see the best of Oscar until he reaches mid to late 20s. Only question is are we patient enough to wait or will he reach his best in another team.

I dislike talking about consistency in footballers. Every footballer's play is inconsistent. Come to that every human being is inconsistent, at everything. Players have a range of performance output which is dictated by their talent. The problem is, those whose general talent is below that required for the level they play at only appear good enough when they are at their very best. The rest of the time, which is most of the time, they struggle.

But problem is that this happens once every 5 games or 5 games in row and then nothing for next three months.

Exactly.

He'll be more experienced then, but his talent is what it is and he's stuck with it. I made the same point when he was 21. People told me to wait till he was 24.

So my guess is that we wont see the best of Oscar until he reaches mid to late 20s. Only question is are we patient enough to wait or will he reach his best in another team.

He has reached his mid 20s and I don't agree with you that there will be any significant change over the next four years. Even if you're right however, I don't see the point of waiting. We need a better contribution from that position, and we need it now. Sitting Oscar on the bench until he is able to be the one who delivers that contribution will be very expensive, will occupy a squad place, and will only slow his supposed progress in any case.

It's not about trust. Oscar hasn't stepped up his game at all since his first season at Chelsea.

I don't know if it's the tactical system or the player's own limitation...but something is clearly holding him back.

Hopefully Juventus pays 25-30 million for him B)

Shocking to see how Oscar still is in the Brazil squad and the likes of Coutinho are out of it. He was magnificent today and it is games like this where he shows some of his world class ability. I don't even see how I was debating with some members on here about who is better between Oscar or Coutinho. It is not even a debate. Coutinho has progressed while Oscar has regressed. Well I think it has been the case for a long while anyway what the Brazil squad is not based on meritocracy and it is more marketing and them factors which are based on players being picked. Allan has been excellent for Napoli this season and can't even get in the squad. I would love to see Oscar put in the type of performance Coutinho done today but I just don't think he has that type of ability. I can't see him getting a starting slot any time here soon either.

Forget Brazil, I will be shocked if he is in the Chelsea squad next summer.

Simple, if you are going into the season with just 4 proper AMs with 2 19 years old as backups, the senior 4 should be world class (hazard) or at least very good players (William/Pedro). Oscar is a good player but that's just about it. Not a game changer, can't control the game. Sell him and get isco if we can. But his time here is pretty much done unless people still think Jose is simply going for "pace".
