Chelsea midfielder Oscar is expected to miss next weekend's fixture against West Brom after being ruled out of Sunday's Manchester City clash through injury.

The Brazilian was replaced by compatriot Ramires in the starting XI at the Etihad Stadium, although details of his problem have not been revealed.

"Oscar's injury isn't a big one but it stops him from playing today and probably next week," Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho told Sky Sports.

Oscar scored the first goal in last weekend's season-opening 2-2 draw against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge.

Did we?

There wasn't a single point in the game today that I thought that.

People just want to believe we had an ace that we could pull out that would have made a difference today.

The truth is they are much better than us, and Jesus Christ wouldnt have stopped the ass kicking they put on Fabregas,Hazard, and Costa.

People acting like Oscar would have made some difference. Excuses getting weaker.

City are much better then us, but that doesn't mean Oscar couldn't have made a difference though.

His set pieces and free kicks been on point, and capable providing that one magical moment(United last season). In these types of games he could have changed the result.

Obviously he couldn't overcompensate for shit players like Ivanovic, Terry(sadly), Cahill, Willian, and Cesc by himself.

so the player who was supposed to be our "new signing" and supposed to have a hazardesque development, is now benched with a mysterious injury. whats worse is that. it seems the "little injury" was not really little.

what the fuck is happening at the club. what is jose doing?

I can't say if Oscar being in the lineup against City was going to be a difference maker, that horror show is over now, but what I picked up on the pre match talk from commentators was that before his injury, Oscar was training to play alongside Matic, deeper in midfield.

Come on, man. Oscar is just another one of our supposedly best players that is deeply flawed and irrelevant when we play the truly top teams.

Whether he plays or not isn't the issue. Not having somebody better than him is.

He may not be David silva, but he's the best number 10 we have in the team. Fabregas is terrible in big games, the fact that the opponent now knows that and now targets his area when attacking us is hampering our chances. Oscar needs to come back so that our pressing will return, his understanding with hazard makes hazard play better too.

Oscar may not be silva, but he's the best we got for that position.

So if Oscar comes back and doesn't make a jot of difference what then? People are claiming he's this special talent, I'm yet to see anything 'special' about Oscar, just flashes of good football and the odd goal.
