OneMoSalah 8,886
Oh come on. You know the situation is different with Oscar compared to those you mentioned there. Mourinho has, on numerous occasions, said Oscar is his No.10, will get better and be an important player in the team.but he also said he wanted those players to stay at various times too, take what Mourinho says with a pinch of salt because quite frankly his actions speak louder than words. Agree but while Mourinho did say he wanted those players to stay, he never really spoke fondly about them compared to Oscar. If you go through all of his comments, you will see what I mean. The way he talked about Mata, Torres etc had that dismissive, diplomatic, not-so-bothered feeling, in that he doesn't really care too much about it. With Oscar, he's talked about he wants him to be his No.10, to be a key player in the team etc. Mourinho didn't even say those kind of things when speaking about Mata, Torres etc.

He probably wouldn't hesitate to sell him for something like 40M if that chance came up.

LDN Blue 7,903
Oscar is a favorite of Mourinho. The latter has already mentioned his faith/confidence in Oscar so many times and he's not just going to let him go.You say that, but he wasn't so much of a 'favourite' last season. Think about how many times he was substituted for example..

Not to mention his habit of leaving him out of our 'big' matches last season too, showed a definite lack of trust.

As for leaving him out of the big matches, think that has been blown out of proportion. It's usually only City away and maybe 1-2 games at Arsenal. RoyalBlues 4,050
Whatever. Staying, good. Sold for Pogba, better.
nono 791
Why exactly? Pogba is a better player, with far less limitations in his game, all the while being younger. Saying that though, if Oscar continues to play the way he did in that first half against Swansea... He is well on his way to being top 3 at his position in the world. For all the downs we've had to start the season, that one half of play against Swansea might have been the best half of football I've seen from a Chelsea player in a long time. This coming from someone who is very critical of Oscar in general. That is exactly the issue though ! If Oscar plays like he did against Swansea, he is clearly a world class player, and then Pogba just becomes unnecessary. I have never been impressed when I've seen Pogba play. He can't dominate games. He isn't worth a top fee, and if we give Oscar to get him we are getting really badly mugged. Plus I'll be really unhappy we got rid of our one good Brazilian player which all the crappy ones stayed (Ramires and WIllian) considering also that we let go of Luiz. Popular Post! lionsden 4,689 Posted August 25, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted August 25, 2015 He's back to being the second coming of Totti on this board I see. I predict the hype will fade away once he returns to the side and the reality sets yet again that he's nothing more than an average and inconsistent attacking midfielder with decent finishing ability and not this key player/ messiah that some people are trying to portray him as. Amblève., Styles, Peace. and 2 others
Stats 7,142
I thought Oscar was our best player against Swansea but wow, people are really overrating his performance. He done well but his performance was not outstanding as everyone makes it out to be. Some comments like he is is well on to his way to being a world class no.10 and him being a world class player is just going OTT. To repeat, I think he had a good game but that was it. Some people are really overrating his performance that day. Probably because the majority of the team were not up to scratch. stroey
Special Juan 28,141
JM won't drop Willian, I'm telling you now. Now Pedro is here it will be Oscar who suffers the most. blueblood22

meetdoscar 335
I think he will also be one of the players to benefit the most from pedro signing. His goals and assists will surely increase. Willian however will be an important option in away games especially or when oscar is tired or not in good form. Any update on his injury?
