Barbara 15,149
Great performance today.Anyone else loving how deep Oscar is dropping this preseason? At times we are playing a 4-3-3, with a Fab-Matic-Oscar, which is great as we are better able to pass around. And then that one point where we had a diamond with Matic at the base, Hazard at #10 and Oscar and Fab on the wings. It was brilliant the passing. I just hope Jose doesn't mis-manage him. He has to understand that Oscar is a player that gets burned out, and he can't "Mourinho" him by pushing and pushing and expecting more.Rest him, rest him often, even if it looks like the team is firing on all cylinders. think long term. he's so bloody good.I don't agree with everything, but I do with the gist of what you're saying. we dominated their midfield with that 4-3-3 in the first half. You replace Kenedy for Willian, demand some defending from Iva and I suppose that's our best system starting the season. He's been working really well deeper and has given the stability we need to dominate the midfield. Even if he doesn't create much, he allows others to. But in his good days he'll create as well, so I'd give it a try if I were Mourinho... even if Willian has to keep Iva at the back of his mind
CurlyHairLikeLuiz 1,625
I wish Oscar would have a go at shooting from that distance in non free kick situations, he can clearly hit the target. But good game for him, we lost so much stability when Ramires came on. Parky 739
I've always believed Oscar should play deeper in a box to box CM role or a wider midfield role rather than an AM. He would be perfect in a 4-3-3 formation on the right.

Bir_CFC 3,455
Why are people calling Oscar dropping deep a revelation? He did that all the time last season...Because against PSG he actually played in midfield and looked good. No dropping deep, actually playing deep. Against Barca was just the regular Oscar dropping deep, still looking good though. I don't think he'd be a regular option for the midfield though, especially if it's just a 2 man midfield. Reckon PSG was just forced to give minutes to everyone. Barbara and Miguelito
DYC. 7,542
He's getting closer and closer to perfectioning his FK technique. He seems to have the power and swerve right, but the accuracy is just a bit off. If he finally manages it, he could score 3-5 FKs in a season, force plenty of corners and some rebounds. I would love that.Barely any FK specialists in the Abramovich era. Frank was always a bit hit and miss. Drogba was excellent for just one year for some strange reason. Mata was good but left soon after he was just starting to become a genuine threat. Barbara, pHaRaOn and Oscar

Positioning, tactical role, FK, support in the middle for others to shine, surprise element in the attack. The question that remains is if he's talented and consistent enough to step up. cfcs most wanted 657
it's kinda funny (though it includes me as well) people who were against Oscar being given a second chance are now asking him to be evaluated after 10 matches. Just shows what a good pre-season could do. Lotus Cheek should learn something from him.
CurlyHairLikeLuiz 1,625
Looks like benching Oscar bit Jose in the arse in the end - he was fantastic once he came on.I think Cesc should be dropped if he can't play DLP. Matic-Oscar-Willian is more balanced jn big games. Despiadado.Maleante, !Hazard! and kellzfresh
Popular Post! robsblubot 3,595 Posted August 2, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted August 2, 2015 With this current crop of players Oscar needs to play for (at least) one reason: he's the one midfielder we've got who actually shoots! His free kicks are good too.As much as I like William in possession, he just doesn't create anything. supporter 3,088
Oscar Dos Santos vs Arsenal -- FA Community Shield 2015 Final 02-08-2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW9E2gtI8s0Oscar has a lot to improve to become a good CM, but he has a new (and better) attitude this year on the grass. Hopefully he can keep improving because we need a CM more than anything, and now he is our best choice for CM.I'm not a big fan of him, but I have to admit that his performance this preseason and yesterday is being different than the other seasons. And it is a performance clearly exciting for our future. With Fabregas a little demoralized at times... we need someone who can help him, and maybe that player is Oscar.Regards. xPetrCechx 13,571
There’s more from Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta as he went on to confirm that Juventus are seeking to bolster their midfield numbers this but are not planning to lodge bids for Chelsea's Oscar or Real Madrid's Isco."Isco and Oscar are both stellar players, but in the case of Juventus - unfortunately, for now - we will never be able to sign them," Marotta added.
