🇧🇷 Oscar

Why are people calling Oscar dropping deep a revelation? He did that all the time last season...

Because against PSG he actually played in midfield and looked good. No dropping deep, actually playing deep.

Against Barca was just the regular Oscar dropping deep, still looking good though.

I don't think he'd be a regular option for the midfield though, especially if it's just a 2 man midfield. Reckon PSG was just forced to give minutes to everyone.

He's getting closer and closer to perfectioning his FK technique. He seems to have the power and swerve right, but the accuracy is just a bit off. If he finally manages it, he could score 3-5 FKs in a season, force plenty of corners and some rebounds. I would love that.

Barely any FK specialists in the Abramovich era. Frank was always a bit hit and miss. Drogba was excellent for just one year for some strange reason. Mata was good but left soon after he was just starting to become a genuine threat.

I do believe the plan is for him to be the new Lampard in the system. Positioning, tactical role, FK, support in the middle for others to shine, surprise element in the attack. The question that remains is if he's talented and consistent enough to step up.

it's kinda funny (though it includes me as well) people who were against Oscar being given a second chance are now asking him to be evaluated after 10 matches. Just shows what a good pre-season could do. Lotus Cheek should learn something from him.

Looks like benching Oscar bit Jose in the arse in the end - he was fantastic once he came on.

I think Cesc should be dropped if he can't play DLP. Matic-Oscar-Willian is more balanced jn big games.

Oscar Dos Santos vs Arsenal -- FA Community Shield 2015 Final 02-08-2015

Oscar has a lot to improve to become a good CM, but he has a new (and better) attitude this year on the grass. Hopefully he can keep improving because we need a CM more than anything, and now he is our best choice for CM.

I'm not a big fan of him, but I have to admit that his performance this preseason and yesterday is being different than the other seasons. And it is a performance clearly exciting for our future.

With Fabregas a little demoralized at times... we need someone who can help him, and maybe that player is Oscar.

Regards.

Or with Matic and Willian while having Cesc on the bench. In the big games that would be so so much better than Matic-Cesc-Ramires in every way possible.

Except for Cesc is one of 2 creative outlets we have and without him the team would have little to no creativity.

There’s more from Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta as he went on to confirm that Juventus are seeking to bolster their midfield numbers this but are not planning to lodge bids for Chelsea's Oscar or Real Madrid's Isco.

"Isco and Oscar are both stellar players, but in the case of Juventus - unfortunately, for now - we will never be able to sign them," Marotta added.

Agreed

Something like this is so much better

hazard----Willian-Ramires

Oscar-matic

Oscar will always convert to the CAM role with Cesc on the pitch. Mou would always utilize Oscar to press high no matter what. While offensively Cesc will drop deep more.
