You guys went from one good deal (Suarez), to sell a great a deal (Torres), to get a bad deal (Carroll).

Carroll's game is stereotyped and is atypical, he is not really a good pivot but just a player who give defenders the temptation to throw him random long balls (who said Skrtel ?) which cannot be exploited properly, particulary the second balls for the support players (on the knee it's inexploitable).

Sturridge is such better than that, he can fill the forward role because of his speed, he can also play in support, on a wing. He is unpredictable (Enrique still have nightmares), full of qualities even if his headers and his right foot can be improved.

I must admit I do agree with you because I also feared that Studge could be part of a deal and I also think he is going to be one of the best strikers in Europe

My main issue with Carrol isn't even the type of player he is it's just that he seems to not even give a toss on the pitch, he shows none of the hunger or the lust to prove himself like other young footballers like lets say Sturridge, but also the issue is that everytime Carrol is on the pitch we just start playing hoofball with Carragher front and center just panic clearing it to carrol every single time no matter who we face, so frustrating. Without Carrol we play such a fluid and nice attacking game that is a joy to watch.

The Carrol deal is the only deal I really disagree with though it must be said but I just don't see him fulfilling his promise.

Mate, Torres just needs direct support player around him like Gerrard was at Loserpool (it's for you Reddreamz )

Every good game of Nando were when he had a support player behind him, Anelka (Copenhagen A, West Ham H), Yossi (Wigan H), Mata (the last 20mn last game) and even Kalou did look a decent player against City behing Torres.

Players such as Drogba are UFOs, Torres needs a player to play around the box because since the start of the season when he wants the ball he has to drop his forward position to play with Lampard or Bosingwa, but they are too far and the defence can reorganize itself. I'm quite sure that with Mata (or with Yossi) Torres will/would have shine

Yossi was never that type of player in my opinion, even at liverpool he never really linked up with Torres in any significant way. Mata might be able to get Torres going but Torres also needs to get his act together from what i've seen of him when playing for your lot he definately seems out of form or just bereft of confidence, cause there were times when he was basically a one man attack aswell, yes he linked up with Gerrard alot but he could score solo goals aswell.

I think the way Ancelotti bedded him in against us fucked his confidence up something rotten, was the worst thing he ever did in my opinion.

Torres defo wasn't ready to play against 'pool in his first game for us, none of the Chelsea fans know what Carlo was doing. Perhaps he hoped that Torres's knowledge of pool's defenders would come in handy.

Looking from last night, he cannot become a Rooney. His work rate was anything but commendable. I caught him walking on the pitch more than a couple of times when we were building an attack! With all due credit for his goal, I think the kid needs to show a lil more commitment now that his primary goal, of getting game time, is achieved. Not very convinced by his performance..
