I know he scored last night, and he did take his goal well but my God that was ridiculously frustrating. The really dreadful thing is that Im not sure that Torres would have done any better. In two seasons, that is the second time he starts as our lone striker (last year it was against Blackburn, away from home). Each time, he didn't performed that good and was written off right away by fans. It is fascinating how people are dubbing him as not good enough, etc. after one game, while they took so much time to realise that some players weren't good enough or past it. He doesn't have match fitness, and he doesn't play in a position that suits him (and how many time did he play there during the last 24 months ?). For Christ sake, give him some time, as Di Matteo was given time after a bad start of the (pre)season, as many players were given time, as Torres has benefited of blind faith despite being one kind of a flop. He needs a fair run of games to be juged. Before this, give him some slack.

Piazon and romeu were alright, bar the goal for romeu which i still think was a stupid ball from cech, tho playing out from the back like that is ridiculous either way,they were grand enough, especially given their playing time sturridge was pathetic he did nothing torres wouldnt of and even tho its "cool" to love sturridge and hate torres these days, Torres would of scored most of the chances he missed or at least contributed more, and dont bollix me with your die hard torres fans bollix, i remember when we had poyet and the likes up front, gudjohnsen would of been my 1st proper hero, i like torres as a person, i think he's a grand bloke from what i can gather of him and am all for a new quality striker.
