Justin_3d 1,140
After reading through this again, I think most people feel that Mikel performance in the CL final was a one of event, and will be too much of a risk. Now I do have to point out that one of the best ever in that role Makelele, did not actually explode till a very older age.Mikel at 25 is still very young. Mikel has been quite vital to the clubs for a long time now, he's played blinders before, people were just starting to notice and appreciate him towards the end of this season. Quality player, will forever remain underrated.

TorontoChelsea 4,064
Not to me. Mikel has been quite vital to the clubs for a long time now, he's played blinders before, people were just starting to notice and appreciate him towards the end of this season.Quality player, will forever remain underrated. He had a poor run of games under AVB and his ball movement is a little too slow if Chelsea wants to play a quick moving 4-3-3, but Mikel has definitely been under-appreciated by many Chelsea fans. His positioning is excellent and he makes short, sure passes.
royg 96
Mikel is good for 4-2-3-1 formation were he is being partnered with another box to box player, unfortunately not in a 4-3-3.
nadavTKL 1,787
I think the club wont get this world class CM, and i think it will be the right desicion. There is no real reason to put Lampard on the bench. And no, the fact he'll turned 34 next season isnt a real reason. If youre going to spend money on a starter (If its 20m or 40m... doesnt metter), its got to be when you know we realy need it. Lampard was phenomenal since RDM got the job, it is just ridicilous to bring Modric or Moutinho now just because he might be finished next season (yeah right). And im not just saying that because its what i think, im saying that because a football club cant act like that. No metter how rich he is. You all need to come down with this obsession of getting more and more new players. You cant be perfect. You cannot bring a world class CM just because our best CM might have some hard times next season. Lampard on the bench after the season he was having? just wont happen... and shoudlnt. Matterz 67
Yann M'Vila would be perfect for me, he is young, will add depth and can be rotated with Mikel and Lampard

Matterz 67
If we buy a player for M'Vila's price it won't be to 'rotate' with the players we already have...Well firstly I'd sell one of Essien or Meireles, also send McEachran on loan again. I'd play Ramires as one of a front three behind Torres, which doesn't leave much in the middle. So in all honesty M'Vila would have plenty of playing time and would cost less than Modric, gies him the chance to make the position his own

LDN Blue 7,903
We most definitely do need a new CM, I don't think anyone can deny that. Yes Lampard improved towards the latter end of the season when Di Matteo gave him a big hug and cuddled him in bubble wrap from the harsh reality of the fact Frank shouldn't be playing so much now.I would've loved Modric at Chelsea but he seems La Liga bound, which is better than him ending up at United as far as I'm concerned. That obviously leaves Cabaye, but I don't think we're interested and Newcastle will look for some big, big money for him. I personally think we should pay that big money, because as much as I like Javi Martinez, the guy is a risk for adaptation to the league and he seems Barca-bound too. Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
He should be given more chances in the double pivot role once we buy a new RW. and if he fails in double pivot? i want him to succees there but 433 is where he's most comfotable but RDM loves 4231 and we prob will stick with it. so then he would be on bench like marin batlling for hazard and the rw spot and rotation. dont know if thats wat we want from player who gave soo much to us. again, i want him to succeed, but just worried for rambo in 4231 and prayin he can succeed in pivot role. sooo '2'- lamps romeu mikel rambo. thats ok unkess if people really want deep playmaker one of them has to go and it looks like lamps and romeu will have to make way for cabaye, moutinho, javi martinez or whomever. ZanSnake 1,211
1 more season with the opportunity of Lamps being a first team starter, and then from there on him giving a Giggs role until the day he finally decides to settle down and hang his boots. I think he should be at least given the oppertunity to become the club's top goalscorer, he is SSOOOOoooo close!

BlueSanti 290
There is one young prospect that could play CM. I guess you never heard of him but he is called Josh McEachrean and he will shine if given chance.Fuck with Modric, I do not want cunt that is obviously playing for his ego and not for his club when we can replace Super Frank with another England player. OneMoSalah 8,887
Who the fuck said Yann M'Vila is creative? When I've seen him he plays majority of his passes sideways or backwards. He played one decent defence splitting pass against Spain, but the majority of his passes in that game were sideways/backwards/not creative basically.
