Eden Hazard

I couldnt say, but what I do know for a fact is that, whether it be footballers or celebrities, there are loopholes which through accountancy enable one to pay less tax.

Regardless of the circumstances, I for one am not believing he's earning as high as 180k p/w wages here. Seems like a ridiculous figure reported by the English media and wanting to paint a picture that players joining us because of money. Moreover, I don't think the club are that silly to pay so much wages for one so young, especially when we bought Hazard at 21 y/o. Will only leave us in an unfavorable position if/when we negotiate a new contract.

What I like, finally since he has beginning his career, he has more players around in the team suited to his play.

Matic, Willian, Eto'o have bring great added value to the team.

At Lille, it was so frustrating, their set-up with fullbacks being wingers and awful technically (Debuchy Beria), Mavuba Balmont who are shit or average at quick passing when there was gaps opening for him.

Gervinho, great to run into spaces but bad at link-up, Hazard after 10 games was not following him anymore as Gervinho would not pass and either shoot or goes in blind alleys in the box never looking for a team mate.

The one touch quick moves we see often lately was so rare at Lille, only Cabaye in midfield could do it at Lille and some with Vittek And Cole but they were slow and could not continue the move after a good first lay-off.

Lol, what's the point of this article? It's like they deliberately want to add a negative touch to the praise he's getting lately.. non-story from 2 years back.

Any surprises?

Mourinho has been playing down our title chances but since we went top of the table yesterday, the media wrote a piece saying Mourinho told the team he EXPECTS us to win the title. Go figure...

George Leekens was a real cunt.

I remember he told eden not to dribble the ball but pass it!

Eden did so and when he saw he would be send of by George for an other player he dribbled 3 players and almost scored.

George says : in the past we always got our success with hard working non technical football, we have to continue this.

O boy, it was a nice day the day he got away from our nt.

Yeah, typical case of a trainer who never really got to manage star players before and wasn't on the same level of quality than his team.

How is a dude with 2 national caps and no real top experience outside of the Belgian league going to talk down to international football stars like Kompany, Witsel and Hazard?

Wilmots didn't have the necessary experience as a coach either, but at least every player respected him as a guy who played 3 world cups, almost became the national top scorer and is an ex UEFA Cup winner (scoring the decisive penalty). The only other Belgian trainers who should be allowed to manage the national team would be Eric Gerets and maybe Preudhomme. I'm actually hoping Wilmots will stay on for years until Kompany retires and can take everything over. :P

Is there any reason Belgium haven't been able to get the best out of him? Only 5 goals in 42 caps is suprisingly low for a player of Eden's quality.

For comparisons sake, Gotze has 6 goals in 26 games while Neymar has 27 in 46 caps.

I think you answered it already. As good as Belgium are, they are not on the same level as Germany and Brazil yet. They have a big potential though.

Well the whole team only really started playing well this last year and a half.

A lot of Eden's caps were from 4 or so years a go where he was often a substitute, we had a team of individuals, no decent striker and a horrible, horrible coach who hasn't been able to get a job since.

His stats will vastly improve in the years to come.

George Leekens was in the news a few days ago telling he was speaking with a London club.

Also he claims the recent succes of the nt he was 90% the reason for that.

On his website he claims that he builded the best Belgium nt ever.

Now he is the National mister 90% joke of Belgium, nobody takes him serious.

I was talking about Rene Vandereycken, his predecessor, who was arguably even much much worse.

I remember a friendly against Morocco. They had a team of technically capable midgets, and we had five or six players above the 6'2 mark. He managed to put a team on the pitch with no wingers whatsoever, every ball played low down the centre of the field. No crosses were even attempted. I was watching in a full bar and every person in the room had better tactical capabilities than the national manager.
