With the decision making around these parts lately I wouldn't be surprised if we hire Brandan Rodgers and sign some average English players.

Yeah it's strange. Is it a coincidence our spend in the buy market seems to correlate with the up's and downs of the Roman asset Empire /?

Fair play to him with these latest comments. The exact mentality I'd have in his position. He's probably sick to death of going from mountain top to valley every other season. We win the league, have a disastrous summer and finish miles off of a title challenge. He won't want to waste the rest of his prime years here if we continue to sign the Drinkwater's, Bakayoko's, Barkley's, and Zappacosta's of the world. Especially when he's watching rivals sign world class talents.

Hopefully these comments light a fire under our clubs ass and they bring in some top class. Otherwise I fear he'll either force his way out or do the unthinkable and run his contract down and leave for nothing.

If it further pushes the board to buck up their ideas this summer then great. I would be more than happy for Hazard to commit the next few years with us and we add to him. He's amongst our most important players and from an attacking perspective he's obviously our talisman.

However I cannot agree with this idea we should feel sorry for Hazard. "he's probably sick to death of going from mountain top to valley every other season" - Hazard's form has fallen below expectations in those poor seasons too. I do feel its less about quality and more about mentality for why we have been so inconsistent over recent seasons. And that is across the whole club - board, manager and players, including Hazard.

City have though clearly raised the bar this season and the club need to make sure they get things spot on this summer.

The entire quote:

"I'm waiting for new players next season," said Hazard. "I want good players, because I want to win the Premier League next season."

Hazard is also aware that his next contract could be one of the last he signs during the prime of his career, adding: "That's why I'm taking my time. It's something big, so I need to think about a lot of things. But one thing is for sure: I'm happy here."

"Like I've said many times before, I think the FA Cup final is not my last game for Chelsea," he said. "It's the last game of the season, that's it.

"After the World Cup, then we will be ready for the next season. But, for me in my mind, I'm here. I have one week to play now. Saturday is a massive game, I just want to win, for me and them also.

"We are Chelsea and we need a trophy at the end of the season and, at the moment, we have nothing. We have not qualified for the Champions League, so this season has been bad. Now we can save a little bit this season, with this trophy. So, we will give everything."

We don't want to go down that arsenal path that cost RVP leaving arsenal ffs

I'd love to know how his fellow workmates feel about his situation and comments. Must make them feel so happy and filled with desire to do their best, or shake him warmly by the throat,

When Conte comes out saying we need to be better in the transfer maket he is whining and it ill have a bad effect on players yet Eden says he will only stay if he has better players around him hes done the right thing.

I think what Eden has come out and said is absolutely right. He deserves to play alongside better players. He is saying he loves the club ans his head and heart is here but he will wait to see what players are brought in the summer. He is coming to a crucial stage in his career. He isn't getting any younger and he does need to think about what he will achieve as an individual. It's actually really refreshing to see that he is giving the club that he loves a chance to match his ambition. Let's face it, he is the best player here at Chelsea and the fact that he plays alongside average Joes bar a select few is just not good enough.

Think we all can agree 1000000% with what he said about getting better, quality players but this cat and mouse game he has been playing is getting tiresome. This is a player who has been flirting with Real Madrid for the past few years and now suddenly threatens to leave if we don't meet his demands? I understand a player's career is short and they want the best but if we're really talking about 'love' or even 'loyalty' here, then shouldn't he stick with the club through thick and thin? If he genuinely loves the club, then shouldn't he just sign the contract? Plus, is he now suddenly making these demands because Real no longer want him or aren't bothered about him at all? Didn't hear him saying this at all prior to this.

I think it is only fair to try and put yourself in Edens boots. He has the right to win the CL given the talent he was born with. There are very few better than him so why should he waste his one chance at winning the very best trophies football has to offer. It's not like he hasn't stuck around to see if we could develop into a European beast. It hasn't happend. He has shown loyalty in my opinion and yea he has flirted with the idea of leaving for Madrid but he hasn't done what 99% of the Worlds best players do and just left no matter who he pisses off. He has been pretty patient with us as a club. He has actually stuck with us throughout all the circus acts and merry go rounds of managers. It's only natural for him to finally be tempted to leave with no major progression on the horizon and he is at the peak of his career. I mean how would you feel if you saw the Drinkwaters and Zappacostas coming through the door when he could be playing alongside class acts at Madrid or Barca.!

He should try putting his foot down and scoring goals then. Look at Salah, Hazard has just as much and more natural talent but won't score anywhere near as many goals as Salah. In the last two seasons under Conte he has scored less than Salah has in one season. Everybody is acting like Hazard is the be all and end all for us, but he could be doing A LOT better in terms of goals. He just doesn't want to. Either that or we need a manager who will give the team that offensive freedom to score the goals, because as good as Hazard is, he could be doing a lot more with the talent he has. Making the excuse of the talent he has around him is poor, because that Liverpool midfield and defence (not including Van Dijk) is average and Salah has still been scoring goal after goal and creating chances. It is up to the player and mentally Hazard hasn't shown since he's been here that he's particularly hungry for goals.

I agree with what he said, but I am not sure if it's right to be said by him.

I agree with him too, but yes, for me too it's not his job to comment on things like this.

How will the dressing room react when they read this? "Well, the best player in our teams think we're shit and need to be replaced."

So, if he says, then I guess Conte was right after all? :D

I bet you most of them feel the same - that the club needs to invest in good players. Even the likes of Azpi were saying we needed more players last summer?

Of course Conte was right in that we need better players. Isn’t that what we’ve all been saying? Aren’t Eden and Conte allowed to have opinions?

And theres no doubt in this world yo anybody that we do.

The problem is the players we got as I know you will agree.

I'm not convinced at all that Conte had anything to do with what we bought. All his supposed wants all said no. So you can imagine our board full of yes men - and woman - all thinking they can do better going and buying a load of wonkey donkeys. Pisses me right off.

What does upset me tho mate is when Save/eden says e need more/better players everyone jumps up agreeing. Conte comes out putting his head and job on the block moaning like fuck e need a better standard of transfers and he gets his nads chewed off. Doesn;t seem fair thats all. He wants whats best for the team at end of the day afterall.
